Misty Goose Repaint in P3D V4?
« on: November 07, 2017, 02:44:22 PM »
Anybody able to get the Misty Goose repaint to work in P3D V4.  I have it "in" the aircraft.cfg, but it doesn't show in the vehicle selections.

Where are you trying to put the Misty paint?

Note: The default P3Dv4x Goose (Grumman_Goose_G21A) is AI only: there is no panel or panel folder hence it will not appear in the sim.

Use the OZx Grumman Goose HD Redux G21 v1.20 as the base aircraft:. It has an panel and it is compatible with P3Dv4.1: Both the G21 reg versions as well as the Redux HP version work in P3Dv4.1.   (Just add the required aircraft.cfg references and away you go!!)

Thanks Norm.  As usual I’ve got something screwy going on. I’ve got it the same as I had it in V4.0...worked fine. So the repaint is still there in my simobjects aircraft.cfg...but the plane doesn’t show up...I have V4.1 now, that’s the only change I made. I’ll do some more looking.

Just check that you have the texture folders in and that the aircraft.cfg is pointing correctly.

Well, I shut it all down and re-copied the Grumman Goose folders from my P3D V3.5 (which was working fine) to the new 4.1 ... and now it works. I'm not even going to ask why ... just accept it and love it! Thanks Norm.

Doug,
if the Goose works fine in P3dv4.1 I can do a new RTMM paint.
What do you and the Community here think about it?

I would love it, but not sure other folks, we’ll ask here. This and the Misty amphibian are my two GoTo planes for RTMM. These are what I fly online when showing off the site.

Yup, must have been just a missing file or reference Doug.. glad you have Geese again!.

New updated paints are always nice to have.. (I carry all the RTMM paints, including the BWEP's.. and our own  AKA's of course lol.. Our ole' AKA Goose needs a new paint too to get it into our current livery)!. Always much nicer to fly in your own liveries and is it just a coincidence that you fly better too when you're dressed in your fav liveries?

Sort of like flying a flag for identification. When I'm online, it "advertises" RTMM nicely.

And a NOTAM ... on the Goose, don't forget (as I did) that you have to use CTRL-W for Jeff's water rudder to work. There is no button for it, but this must be done to "activate" the rudder. I've now put this also on the enhancements page so we won't forget.

Like the developer for the BE18 sent you your own paint "Suzanne"? Great! Sue. Nothing like having your own personalized aircraft to fly!.

here's the plane at Flightsim .com... Still works in P3D.

Category: Flight Simulator 2004 - Original Aircraft
Twinstar_ Twin_ Bonanza_V2.zip    ZipDive!  Download
File Description:
This is version 2 of my Twinstar_ Twin_ Bonanza.zip.The repaint of my Twin Star Flight School has been completely redone, including interior and one without logos. You can check my progress from my first Twin Bonanza repaint which by comparison is trash compared to my latest Twin Bonanza repaint. All file names remain the same (with some added) so if it wants to overwrite, let it do so.It has three sound sets,I recommend Sound.ts in FS9,Sound.dc in FSX and Sound for either FS9 or FSX.It also contains my V3 panel, glass and prop updates. The aircraft.cfg is up to date for use with both FS9 and FSX.It also includes all of my Twin Bonanza repaints totalling 139 in all. The main reason for doing this is for ease of use.No additional files are required for this download. The model,3 sound sets and 2 texture sets are included. And of course any of my Twin Bonanza repaints will also work with this download.{You don't need to have all the repaints!} Either simulator will ignore what you don't have.It will also allow for ease of use in installing additional repaints. I highly recommend to anyone that has downloaded my original Twinstar_ Twin_ Bonanza.zip, replace it with this download!
