Misty's Place (10/8/2017)
« on: October 08, 2017, 09:06:19 PM »
Doug did some upgrades to Misty's Place for Prepar3d v4, and asked me to "take a look".  So I did, and I took pictures, of course.  (I just taxied to the runway and took off, then landed again.)  ;)

I should explore Misty's Place more using the v4 Avatar mode.

Hi Jeff,

Nice pics!  Had to go to 3 screens for those great pics.  What resolution were you at?  I run my sim at 5040 x 1050 but assume your resolution is different especially if you have 16 X 9 monitors.  Mine are 16 X 10.

Hi Rod,
Thanks.  My resolution is 5760x1080.  (3 x 1920x1080)  Each monitor is 42", making the screen 126" wide.  I sit about 4-5 feet away from them, and they curve slightly in on each side.  They are mounted in the corner of my room, center one diagonal and side ones on each wall.  ;)

     Thanks for asking.   :)

The Blackhawk is still there.  It's been relocated behind the sailplanes.

You can place a Misty hawk anywhere you want.  Go ahead.  Do it!  ;)  ;D

(wasn't that blackhawk abandoned by a pilot that got too drunk at Misty's Place?)  Whatever happened to him? ???

The helo in the old Misty's scenery was placed right in the way of being able to taxi around the ramp without having a wingtip pass through the object.  If its reinstated for the new paint that's being done please move the pad to a location that isn't so intrusive.

Hi Jeff,

Pretty cool!  Hard to imagine a viewing area that is 10 1/2 feet wide.  That is a bit more than double mine.

Hi Rod,
My aim was to emulate a windshield of a vehicle, with close to accurate dimensions.  I drive and fly a lot, so screen size is important.  Two screens makes me cross-eyed, with the bezel in the center of the view.  :o  I wouldn't mind getting one of those 120" curved displays that are out these days.  ;)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QMMLFMM?ref=emc_b_5_i  Sweet!   8)  Only $674.00  :o

I am still running Prepar3d v3.4 and as with other scenery producers (IE Orbx) I am wondering if these recent updates have any value for the older sims? Teecee.
