I really wonder, what about the Vancouver+ entries (about 47) in terrain.cfg?
Hi Dieter,
You make a good point. For me, I know that this stuff has to be done. I was just checking to see if Vancouver+ needed something special in the registry. But our readers may not know what might have to happen behind the scenes. For example, there are actually a block of 48 Vancouver Plus FSX custom textures that need to be manually added to the P3D terrain.cfg as part of getting everything running and looking correct.
My actual procedure, since I didn't have Vancouver Plus for FSX installed anywhere, was to install it into my test bench computer which has a clean copy of FSX Deluxe. I ran the configurator and configured it for the options I wanted including PNW compatibility. I then copied the now installed Vancouver+ components over to my P3Dv3 installation. This would work for P3Dv4 too according to Jeff and Dex.
The Vancouver+ unique files/components that I copied over to P3D from the FSX installation were from the following folders:
SimObjects, Sound, Effects, the whole FSAddon folder and the 48 custom texture entries from the terrain.cfg file. I did not overwrite anything that I already had in my P3Dv3 installation other than adding the 48 custom texture block of text to the P3Dv3 terrain.cfg after I renumbered the 48 entries to add on to the current terrain.cfg and incremented the number of files by 48.
