Misty Gustavus
« on: September 01, 2017, 01:53:26 PM »
Misty Gustavus ... is now in the BETA area of the scenery page (at the bottom).

There is a fine little airport in the Glacier Bay, SAK, that we haven't used very much in the past, it is Gustavus, PAGS. It has a lighted runway for night and evening travel.  I've put a small Misty's Office and a little medical center on the airport grounds. If you "start" at "13 Small GA Parking" you'll be right in front of the new complex.

With this package I've added 7 little locations for you to fly to in the Glacier Bay area. this will give you some things to enjoy on the "other end" of the flight.

There are flight plans included, and all of these are also in the RTMM Flight Plans.zip you can download from the Here2There page.  All of the locations are on the start table at Here2There and all are also in the GoTo interactive table.

Right now, you'll find this at the BOTTOM of the Scenery Page in the developmental/Beta area. Once a few of you try this and give me some feedback for errors, I'll place it into its final location under "M" on the Scenery Page.

Let me know if you encounter problems.

Doug

Sure is, Sue. It just adds a couple things in top of the ORBX.  It is like "painting" on the ORBX airport that is already there. I found a nice area where there were no objects and placed the Misty's Office and a medical center on that "blank" (object free) area.  So this is a "lay over" of what ORBX puts there for you.

Should this scenery be marked as ORBX PAGS required?

"Required"?  ???  Checking  :-\  ... stand by  ;)

I've disabled Orbx FTX PAGS and the scenery still looks fine.  I'd say it is NOT "required".   ;)

Question:
There are several cabins marked on the map. These ones are not yet included in "misty_gustavus.bgl", correct?
Many greetings

So there is a PAGS ORBX addon? I'm just putting this into the standard SAK scenery...just like we've done with other airport additions. At the real airport, this area is not used, so it seems a safe place for an addition.

Dieter, what cabins? Have you got a list?  I could add them for this beautiful area.

Not included in your user points...but with Misty Gustavus, they now exist. A couple are tent campsites. Just something that would draw people to a beautiful area to see and explore.

There is a LOT of cruise traffic going on up there, fun to watch.

Boy the weather around Glacier Bay can really be tricky. Here's what it looked like this morning (with Active Sky).  This was flying at 2000 feet, so the weather is right down to the deck!

I've got a "fresh" folder up there for Misty Gustavus. If you downloaded before, you might want to delete that folder and give the new folder a try.  Some folks are not seeing the included cabins. Can someone confirm that this NEW folder indeed shows the cabins? You can use the MAP to slew to:  N58° 53.0902'  W135° 48.8853'  Mag 168 for the Adams Inlet Cabin.  Let me know if you can see it.

Yep, I see the same thing.  A nice little cabin with fire inside and out.  No shortage of wood around here. ;)

Carol Glacier campsite - They have cars here? ???  Where is everyone?   :-\

Muir Inlet campsite - More trucks.  No planes or boats.  ???

It would be nice if there were icebergs here.

Sorry.  :-[  I am sounding hypercritical, I think.  It is only BETA.  The objects placed do show fine in my sim.
