100th flight plan completed!
« on: July 22, 2017, 12:02:34 PM »
Just completed my 100th flight from the RTMM flight plans library.  It just happened to be a flight finishing at Misty's Place -- in the mist with real world WX too.

Thanks for creating all the interesting stops for my first 7 months on the site! I have visited 85 RTMM sites plus 83 USFS cabins so far.

I celebrated with a repaint and a new interior. The look matches the age of my computer.

Bravo!  Congratulations on your milestone.  Here is to a thousand more happy landings.  I have no idea how many flights I've done.  Never one to count those things.  I have many, many screenshots though.  So I've been around.  ;)

Glad you're enjoying the destinations, and thanks for the screenie.  The plane's looking good.   8)

Great to hear!! Any particular highlights that you remember so far? Beyond this last milestone that is.

Congratulations,

Brad

A few highlights... and I should point out I am doing the flight plans by letter (in a random order) and thus far I have only done plans starting with the letters S, H, and M!

Halibut Cove
Hollis Harbor
Shrode Lake
Swan Lake #2 @ 57.031 -132.6942 with exit though the notch at dam
And I found this randomly... A crazy spot with floating buildings and light orbs! Klemtu @ 52° 35.48'N  128° 31.27'W

Looks like the same place, but less spooky.  In my pic below hopefully you can see the lights and buildings at wrong elevation. Something wrong with my scenery?

Is your mesh set at 5m?  Using Pilot's Global 2010 mesh for FTX?  Scenery library in proper order?  ... just wait for sim to finish loading.  Sometimes requires a reload of the scenery library to straighten things out.  ???

Floating buildings is a known issue.  I have floating buildings at Sitka.  I was testing AI there and noticed the floaters NW of the airport in the shoreline community.  We had floating buildings at Skagway, but a fix was created and resolved the issue.  I think Brad did the fix.  I don't remember.  He or Rod may enlighten us on the floating house issue if we are lucky.  ;)
(or search "floating houses" in the forum) ;)  :P

I do think my settings and scenery are set properly.  Yes to these at least: mesh at 5m and using Pilot's Global 2010 mesh for FTX.

I was just thinking it was strange I haven't seen floaters at another location and it was funny to arrive at dusk and see floating lights and buildings.  Attaching another pic showing a view of the twilight zone.  Not looking for a fix exactly, but as to highlights on the first 100 trips, this was the strange one!
