I open mine in IR Fan View (freeware), convert them to .jpg, crop out only the primary part of the picture, and re-save it. Cuts the file size down in a really major way. Or, if you want to make thumbnails for instance you can specify dimensions. It's easy. It's also my default picture viewing app.

Hi Jspair why to convert ? in P3D you can choose fomat extension .jpeg .bmp . png .... In the interface .

Patrick,
It's because he doesn't use P3D.

??? Huh? ???  The pic in that link is only 100x90.  So tiny I couldn't see what is in the picture.  Am I seeing it right?  ???

Here is what I am seeing ...

Jeff,

Just remove the last 3 characters in the link. So, instead of "9CZ1t.th.jpg" use "9CZ1t.jpg". It's likely that you're seeing John's thumbnail image (hence "th" in the URL) instead of a full-sized one. Thanks!

Well, It's just that the picture was so very tiny.  However, the link works! ;)  I was able to see the picture.  I copied the link you posted and placed it between two image codes in green here
[img]http://your_picture.png[/img.] <- (without the little red dot.  I had to add that so the code would show as text.)  ;)

     So if you ...
            *select screen sized pictures,
            *copy the link,
*click on the Mona Lisa button above the emoticons,
*paste the link between the two halves of the code and save
... you will be on your way to posting pics like a pro.

Be sure to "preview" your post first to see how it is going to appear.  ;)

Ok...so after all of that what are we looking at? Is there some kind of problem with the scenery on the right side other than it isn't a 100% real world vs virtual world representation?

It looks like a pretty good replica of the real world in FSX.  Can't expect it to be 100%.  It's close.  Look at the bend in that road.  It's all there, they just added an airport into the scene.  Cool.  8)
I think the picture is just a "test image" from 2013 that he was using to learn how to post pics here.  Don't put too much into it.  ;)
