Nice screenshots! Looks like Doug is pretty creative with the stuff around the cabins. I wouldn't have thought to put half if the stuff that he has there ::)

Thank you all. Well, I try to imagine "living" there. What would I need, what would I like it to look like from the "porch", etc. If you get in the "Bob" mode and walk around, it is easy to see where there should be a bush or a tree that doesn't block the view, etc.

Don't forget, as part of our process, there is a "start-up position" for all of the locations on the Here2There page on the start-up table. And of course all the new ones are added to the ne GoTo table.  Part of the fun of all of this is finding a neat "geographical place" to put something.  On the new Hidden Inlet, I found just such a place. An amazing valley that you can do a U turn in.

Pretty places. Fly them at sunset, that's my favorite time. All the navigational lights are "on" as well as the street lights, etc.

If you find a special place that gives a good "journey" ... let me know. There are thousands of them in this beautiful scenery we have.

Doug, it sounds like you are looking for a project. I've been trying to get the folks at ORBX to take on one, but so far nothing. You did Hawaii, how about Ocracoke Island, NC? Before you think or say no, take a look at the Island. A quaint little fishing village that has turned from a fisherman's paradise into a tourist attraction as well. It is a lot like some of the other places you guys have done in Alaska, but summer fun. Give it a good look, I think you will agree it would be fun.

At RTMM, we try to stay in SAK, TFX, PFJ and PNW. Sometimes, someone will work in the area near the pipeline that is covered by ORBX Global and Vector, but we try not to stray far from the pipeline. Dougs Hawaii (EFMM) was pretty special, but the whole island chain was done. This way, you can fly "here to there" between the islands.

Someone might be able to work on the islands a little and release it on somewhere like Avsim, but you would have to do some encouraging.

What do you want done to it? I would be glad to add a couple of objects to a seaplane base or if there is an airport, fix up the taxiways or something, and add some objects at the airport there, but if you want photo real with autogen annotation, new vector and mesh, you're looking in the wrong place.  :)

     Hi BBQSteve,
I do realize you're talking to Doug, but Ryan is right.  RTMM is centered around the "Misty Fjords" National Monument and the general Alaskan coastal areas.  North Carolina is so very far away.
It sounds like a nice project, but not related to RTMM in the slightest sense.  Doug or someone else could do it as a side project.  (or you could, eh?)   ???   8)   ;)

Very nice screenies, Handie.  Thanks for posting them.  The sites look wonderful.  Thank you, Doug.   8)

Handie,
these are beautiful pictures.....thank you for sharing!

Doug,
The cabins look beautiful....thank you.
I love them. It's some kind back to the roots adding these smell jewels to Misty's "Homeland".
I have been flying in the BWEP area in the past months.....now I took a break and I returned to Misty's and enjoy flying the mistyHawk there.

I agree with Jeff in that it sounds like a good project that maybe Steve could volunteer to do to in order to give back to the community. I'm sure we have lots of tourist attraction type objects in our massive library collection that would fit into the theme. I'm pretty sure there's a Ferris Wheel in one of the default FSX libraries.

What might be interesting is to divide the project into chunks and have multiple people work on it together.  If we go any further with the Ocracoke discussion, we may want to start a new thread for it :)

Steve, don't worry too much about "giving back"  :D After all, you made the whole basis that RTMM sits on.  8)

They're two Steves!  Steve was talking to BBQSteve.   ;)

Ryan, that's why you should be doing your English composition home work instead of playing around with flight sims. Haha. Just kidding.
