Since my Orbx stuff will work, Hoping ASN will be ready and I'll keep my P3Dv3 on the system for Instant Scenery until the new dll comes out, I don't think there will be a problem with Misty stuff so I'll jump in on day one.

edit ... well, there is a beaver coming!  Things are shaping up quickly, it seems, for compatibility with v4.  Raising one eyebrow ...

64bit sounds beautiful regarding memory management in the sim.....no more OOM's.
Updating the aircrafts and helicopters is the key for me.....I need good helicopters in P3d v4 or it's not of use for me.

The other key is FSUIPC. Lot's of addons need it. It's not clear if it will be updated.
My beloved HTR addon for optimising helicopter addons needs FSUIPC running.....

So I feel no rush updating for v4 as soon as it is avaible. Hopefully the nexts weeks will clear the fog and show as some good news in regard of compatibility of our addons with 64bit.

You're a trooper! I'm certainly going to be following along on your progress reports and any feedback you can share. I'm not comfortable jumping in early but appreciate your courage. I look forward to hearing about the new sim and any review or report you offer here.

I haven't had a single OOM since switching to the DX10 Fixer and properly configuring my system for optimum VAS usage. Just sayin'.

Also, will P3D4 require a complete reinstall of everything sim-related from scratch or even nearly so? If so, another big deal breaker.

Pete Dowson announced on the FSUIPC forums thete will be a new FSUIPC version compatible with P3dv4.
Not just an update but a new compiled version called FSUIPC5.
But will need some time and will not be avaible at the release of P3dv4.

FOR FSUIPC i have for a long time , few years ago and yes we do to pay the version5 , i think we can do it and don't worry for paying . we upgrade for free a lot of versions  pete dowson .

Yes, Pete does deserve to get paid for what he does.  I agree.

FSUIPC5 is now available in the free version, the paid version, which we should all get will be around $25 and available shortly in the SimMarket.

We are testing our fleet at Alaska Adventures and finding that most native FSX/P3D stuff transfers well.  As long as the installer can be re-directed or the program is designed for copying files...there are no problems.  As most of you know, we have a number of tours that depend on RTMM and so far all of the RTMM software is working fine.  Even Tongas Fjords works well, you already know about a few AI issues. 

ASN will not be updated because AS2016 replaced it and there will be a (what looks like) a free up date there.  trackIR works great, although some will have to juggle the sim connect to the right one for their version.  No problems with hardware so far.  Hope this helps.  I am impressed with the program and I am impressed with how fast the developers are getting the upgrades out.  This will not be the lengthy process we have all endured in the past.

if you have a CTD with 200 AI ship, the only fautive is the Calypso by Lagaffe in simobject/ boats  you need to change in .OLD . Didier Lagaffe is working on and in few days is compatible .
