Aerosoft BeaverX Update
« on: April 26, 2017, 06:00:36 PM »
Did everyone but me know there's an update for the Beaver to 2.31? I just stumbled on it. May have been around for years for all I know. But, if not...

I wonder what version I have, too.  :P  Looking at the update page, I get this info-

Patch notes for version 2.31:
Quote
This update adds 5 new liveries and one new long distance model created for PCPilot. It does not contain any other update.
;)

... also, file dates are 2007.   :o

I wonder what's contained in the previous update, 2.30?

I found my install .zip....2.30. Came that way when I purchased it. I'm going to need a bigger Beaver hangar pretty soon. Maybe there was an earlier version also? Maybe so...been around a long time.

Had a look at my original zip download and in the zip the product.cfg file says its version 0231 so I'm guessing that the 'upgrade' was for older versions of the Beaver.
When I look at the page in the link there is also listed AS_BeaverX_UPD_320.zip but when you open the zip it turns out to be an update to version 230.  Aerosoft got the numbers reversed apparently.
For me I'm at v231 already so I'm sticking with that.
It ain't broke and I'm not gonna fix it!  ;)

I installed the repaints offered (oh, and "amphibian 3", a new model), but my model was already up to 2.30 apparently.  I had a previous download of the 230 update already in my download folder, so I must've been through this already.  I don't remember.  When I tried to run the 230 update, it asked me for my email and BeaverX serial.  I could not find my serial number anywhere.  Not on my computer or on the Aerosoft purchased products page.  I don't remember exactly when I got my beaver, or how.  It's been a very long time ago now.   :-\

Welcome to the show! (10 years later)  :)

Seriously, the 2.31 update isn't that big of a deal. Just basically adds a couple of new liveries, a few minor instrument fixes and the PC Pilot model is nothing special.
