Car Crash
« on: March 31, 2017, 12:27:02 AM »
While driving back from school today, we slid into another lane and hit a car, totaling both vehicles. Luckily, everyone is completely fine. Here are some pictures:

Other car

We hit right on the front right of our car into the right of their car. Due to the icy roads, we were going pretty slow anyways, so we did not hit extremely hard.
Interestingly, being around airplane so much, my first instinct was "GET OUT!" Cars don't really burn quite as much as airplanes (or like in the movies), but it's good to not lock up. Hopefully insurance will cover everything and we will have a new car soon.

Glad everyone's OK. Replacing damaged property is easier to deal with than injuries. Good luck.

I know it's a hassle but cars can be fixed, glad nobody was hurt.

Everybody up here uses studded tires. Chains would wear out too fast.

Thanks everyone! ;)

Glad to hear that no one was injured.  Agree that chains are normally a major pain.  Snow tires (studded) are convient and usually are installed for winter season and changed in the spring.
Snow and ice and cold weather is one reason I chose to retire in FL.  Grew up in Northern ID. and had plenty of the stuff.
Later,

Studded tires have been outlawed here in Ohio for years because they really tear up the pavement. When we had them they couldn't go on before Nov. 15 and had to be off by March 15.

People here drive with studs all summer. ::) the police charge $250 per studded tire, plus you were them out.

Glad everyone is OK. Cars can be replaced, people can't.
