Trees on the runway at PF01
« on: March 29, 2017, 08:28:33 AM »
Hi All.

I've just started a flight at PF01 (I'm sorry, but I can't spell the name of this ariport).

Has anyone else has this problem?

Regards.

"The problem" has to be specified what it is and, as ualani says, a screenshot with the coordinates showing (CTRLZ) will allow other to compare what you see and what is 'correct'.

I've tried to get a screenshot, but I can't.

I'm using FSX Steam Edition and for some reason, probably due to and overnight update to Windows 10, the screenshot feature has stopped working.

So what do I do Instead?

As far as the co-ordinates are concerned, the airport is at:

N 54 degrees 39.64 W 129 degrees 47.91

Hit "prtscn" on your keyboard. Paste the image into Windows Paint, PhotoShop or a similar photo viewer. Save it to a file and then upload it here.

PF01/Khutzeymateen River
There is no rwy to be seen.
- Do you have Orbx Pacific Fords installed?
If yes, are insertion points set correctly?
Many greetings

Dieter,
PF01 does show a R/W although its just a dirt strip.  From PTP's screen shot he does not have the scenery file from RTMM installed or if installed not activated.  Both ORBX's PFJ region and RTMM's PF01/Khutzeymateen River scenery file must be present to see the scenery.
Attached is a screen shot of PF01

I don't know if this would be it, but when I have had a problem with trees on runways it has always been because of where the LC for the America's are placed by the ORBX Central. I can't look at my flight sim, as it is all packed away for the move this weekend to Star ID. After 69 years in OR I have finally called it quits

Yep.We redid that scenery a while back and there is indeed a runway there. I remember without even having to look.

Sorry, I wrote a vague and not clearly answer, this scenery has a runway, of course!
I should have stated: In your screenshot (pontiusthepilot) is no rwy to be seen.
Many greetings

Hi All.

This is strange.

I've disabled Khutzeymateen River in the FSX Scenery library and then re enabled it. I re built the scenery database each time. I'm still getting trees on the runway.

But I've noticed that sometimes, It starts with no autogen trees at all. Then after a few minutes a few appear in the distance and then they are all over the place - including the runway.

So I'm at a loss.

Regards.
Pontius.

Ok. It was insertion points.  I've moved the ORBX Scenery to a point below Misty Moorings and all seems to be fine.

Hopefully all the other airports are ok now too.

Regards.
Pontius.

Although its old and not totally up to date the Definitive Guide to FSX has this table showing the order of files for the FSX Scenery Library and it works quite well with this order.
(the greyed out entries are FSX default scenery)

Yet again, Spud pulls out the definitive guide!  ;D
