avast free anti virus and win 32:malware-gen
« on: March 31, 2017, 08:58:28 AM »
I am about to change seasons but my link to the switcher did not work. On further investigation it looks like the free avast anti-virus has removed the file and wont let me reinstall. Has any one else had this problem ( false positive). I may have to delete the avast for the time being I was only trialing it over the last few months anyway

Although I'm not familiar with Avast, most AV software will allow you to create a scan exception for files or folders. You should also be able to temporarily switch it off while you download and install.

Yes that what I'm trying to do It looks as if its Avast way of showing a pup. I would sooner they gave an option to exclude there and then

Go into settings, there is a place for exclusions there.
