Ghost plane in Google Earth
« on: February 05, 2017, 09:59:39 AM »
Just landed at the Double Bay USFS cabin and while tracking my flight and looking for a new destination in Google Earth I saw another plane and had to do a double-take!  Anyone else ever seen one of these captured in a Google Earth's Alaska imagery?  The Seward chart has this bird on the A1 airway.

Location =  60°27'53.07"N 146°20'39.40"W

Yes, Google Earth quite often captures aircraft in its images.  That's normal.   8)   ;)

Hah, nice catch!  Looks relatively low too, in relation to surrounding terrain.  I'll bet it's an Alaska 73 off of Cordova, on the way to join the WITTI1 arrival route into Anchorage.  On a nice day we'll stay lowish and VFR over the Sound; there's no more spectacular scenery around!
