Lookiing for help with the Beaver
« on: December 04, 2016, 11:25:55 AM »
Just browsing the BWEP site, and notice that there is a lot of reference to the Payware Beaver.. I have Prepar3d v 2.5 and I have bought the Beaver (twice, I am a glutton for punishment) and cannot for the life of me get it to work in Prepar3d.
Is there anyone that is aware of some method of getting this aircraft working, as it truly is great for flying all RTMM areas. Teecee.

Hi Teecee,
What problems are you having, exactly? ???  I use the Aerosoft Beaver in P3D with no issues.  There is a gauge issue, but a fix is readily available here on the site, I believe.  Let us know what exactly the issue is that you are experiencing so we can get you up and flying that twice-bought beaver in P3d.   :) ;) 8)

I am running Prepar3d v2.5 and no matter what I do, I cannot get the Beaver to show up in the sim.
It looks like a normal install (using Estonia to make the installer find FSX) but it does not show up anywhere within the sim.. I tried it without Estonia, and it will not accept Prepar3d as an acceptable place to install, so I have to use Estonia. I have searched right through the sim and can find no reference to Aerosoft or Beaver.. Teecee.

Hi Teecee,
I may have "cheated" a little bit.  I don't know.  But when I first started installing into P3d, I used the tool that tells your system where FSX is.  I pointed it at P3D instead.  So now, if a program wants to install to FSX, it goes to P3D.  If it want to install to P3D, it goes to P3D also.  You know, it's the FSX registry tool.
It has been a long time since I installed my Beaver.  I don't really remember the process myself.  I don't remember having a hard time with it either, though.  It is one of my best planes in P3D now, and is my favorite, by far.

I used the Estonia registry tool..It puts a copy of FSX.exe in prepar3d..Did not work for me..That said, I have not tried the registry tool in Orbx..I will have a look at that..Thanks for your time Jeff. Teecee.

 8) New idea, suggested elswhere. (after doing the registry tweak we did). Open control panel/programs and features then if the Aerosoft Beaver is listed- click uninstall.  Afterwards, reboot the system. Then try to install in P3D. We tried everything else.

Hi Teecee,
May I assume that you've gotten your Beaver working?  If so, ... yay!  I forgot about that other Aerosoft Beaver X thread from a couple years ago.  Thanks again, Rod.   ;)
