Hello Sue,
thank you for the heads-up....I will contact Doug to Change the texts for better identifying Dirk Fassbernder`s SuperPuma. His product is well known among helosimmers, so I was caught in the trap it should be identified with my text explanations. Please apologize!
But I want to explain why I did it that way.
The SuperPuma helicopters were developped by Aerospatiale in the 1970`s . This French Company did get together with the german MBB (Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm) company in 1994, I believe. The Eurocopter Company was the result of this action. The already existing helicopter`s brought into Eurocopter were still sold with their original names like the Aerospatiale AS332 or the MBB BO105. All helicopters which were developped by Eurocopter developped became a new Termination like the Eurocopter EC135. Newer Versions of the SuperPuma`s were changed to EC225.
In 2015 Eurocopter Company was completly integrated into the Airbus industries Company. So Airbus is now developping aircraft and helicopters. the helo part is officially named as Airbus helicopters (see the following link).
the names of the helicopters were changed again. The civil Versions of the SuperPuma`s are now the H225. The well known former EC135 is now the H135 as another example speeking.
So the SuperPuma is indeed an Airbus!
I wanted to use the new Company and terminology to Show this helicopter is still in production and will be in the future because all new Versions will be distributed as H225.
