Hi Steve,

The documentation pdf for Part II of the Object Libraries shows that I removed the following .bgls during conversion in June of 2014:

RTMM_An-2T_CIRP.bgl
RTMM_EH101_SAR.bgl

It doesn't say why but I am thinking there was some kind of conversion problem and/or thought they were obsolete.   If someone has the old RTMM Object Library (before FSXP3D conversion) they would be in there and could possibly be converted based on our current knowledge.  I no longer have a copy of the old libraries.

Rod

Hey Guys,
I am back home from work.  Thanks Rod and Steve, for digging into this problem.  Yes, I do have the EZ Object library.  (see pictures above ;) )  I never throw anything away.  Ever.  I just buy bigger hard drives.  ???  Since the library is obsolete, I won't post it here.  That would add confusion, I think.  I'll put it in my dropbox and give Rod and Steve the link to it.  ;)

Thanks Jeff.
I may have the old libraries somewhere in a dusty corner as well, but will have to do some digging to see if they still exist.

UPDATE - I located an old copy of RTMM_EH101_SAR.bgl and will have a look see...stay tuned.

Roger, wilco.  Standing by . . . over.  :P

(Of course, you're aware of the "texture folder" that goes with it.  Just want to remind you.  So the entire EZ Object Library needs to be available, for those.  ;)no reply on this is necessary, BTW.

OK, I may have an answer to the heli mystery, or at least part of it. As nearly as I can tell (by running the bgl through MCX) there are a number of missing textures in the texture folder. I have a copy of RTMM_EH101_SAR from the RTMM object library dated 7/18/2013.

Missing textures are:

GLOBALENV_AC_GLASS_T.DDS
GLOBALENV_AC_GLASS_SPEC_T.DDS
GLOBALENV_AC_CHROME_32.DDS
fx_2.bmp
EH101_PILOT_SPECULAR.DDS
DECAL_NNUMBER.DDS
EH101_01_T_BUMP.DDS
GLOBALENV_AC_CHROME.DDS
EH101_02_T_BUMP.DDS
EH101_03_T_BUMP.DDS
EH101_04_T.DDS
EH101_05_T.DDS
EH101_06_T.DDS

Based upon the above, the heli looks incomplete. Therefore I'm sure this is why when Rod looked at object he  decided to leave it out during the conversion process.

Jeff,
If you have copies of the missing textures, we could reconstruct this. If not, maybe we could substitute it for a different heli in our library (which might be a lot easier in the long run.)

Also, judging from what I see I'm thinking that you must have converted a flyable EH101 aircraft into a static model for use as an object.

I located the missing bi-plane. It's also in the old RTMM Objects Library, and was located in RTMM_An-2T_CIRP.bgl I have this if needed. I'm not sure why this was left out during the FSXP3D conversion.

Steve

I just ran it through the conversion process and it converted just fine for use as an FSXP3D object.

Hey Steve,
I found the EH101 related textures you listed in the texture folder for the actual aircraft, but not the static object.  I did not make the static aircraft, only used the library object.  If you look at the picture, the static model shows in my sim using the EZ Objects library.  The "Global . . ." files are, well . . . global.  They reside in the simulators main Texture folder.  The fx_2.bmp is a widely used effect texture.  I don't have the DECAL_NNUMBER.DDS file anywhere on my system.

Thanks Jeff. I'm still tracking some things down...stay tuned.

Do you remember, by any chance, where you found the object? Someone converted it.

OK, I figured this out!

The missing textures I listed above are found in the main texture folder (just like Jeff told us.) The others -except for DECAL_NNUMBER.DDS which apparently doesn't exist - all reside in SimObjects\Rotorcraft\EH101\Texture.

So.....theoretically if we put the missing object back into RTMM_EH101_SAR.bgl and activate it in the scenery library, everything should be as it should, theoretically being the key word. I'll do some some messing around with this and report back.

Well, it looks like the EH101 did not correctly convert as an FSXP3D model for some reason as I initially thought, so forget everything I said previously. My suggestion is to replace it with a similar heli in our library and move on.

Ok, thanks.  It does show in my sims, as is.  What is the "conversion" doing, exactly?  Why can't we just place the current model into the new library and use it? ???

. . . like I just did.  (P3D)

Jeff,
Good point. Do me a favor and send me everything that you have for this thing - lock, stock, and barrel - so I have a clean slate to work with (I have junk all over the place for this) and I'll have a fresh look-see. Since you prove that it works in P3D without having to do anything special to it, we should be good to go the way you have it.

Well, all I did was put the EH101 related textures into the EZ Scenery LibraryFSXP3D/texture folder, and the BGL into the scenery folder.  Pretty simple really.  You've got all that already, don't you?  :-\
