JJ,
Ok.  On a side note, when I look at the texture files for the misty paint, some bmp files show tiny images, and some have icons (DXT1 Bitmap Manipulator, which I use to edit alpha channels).  The other texture folders show all icons.  That may be a clue to some incompatibility you can't overcome.  Doubt it, but something is different about the images.   :o  I couldn't see what.  They are all DXT5 1024x1024 16-bit format.  But I think the real issue is why does the default plane load when you click on the Misty livery!?  :-\

You are exactly right, Jeff. I noticed that, too. But I still wonder why it works for other folks, like yourself, utilizing the same download I'm trying to use, but not for me? I feel like the proverbial red-headed step-child. I'll get over it, though.  :)

All .bmp  files are not created equal...some use alpha channels some don't, same with compression etc....
I don't have W10 but standard W7 is not able to display alpha channel .bmps and just leaves the icon there.   You should be able to open all of the files with imagetool from the Environment SDK to see their characteristics.  If they won't open with imagetool then, there may be a problem.

Hi Rod,
I get this when attempting to load the "Care185fuse_A.bmp", (Misty repaint, part A) into the imagetool.  Is this the "problem" you're referring to?

The default texture of the same name shows when loaded into imagetool.

ps:  Thanks for the heads-up on the imagetool.  I'll add it to my toolbox.  ;)

Interesting development. I loaded some more planes today, all C185's. I noticed I was having the same problem. Not reverting back to the default AC, per say, but reverting back to a different AC than I chose...or showing a different picture after selecting AC. I discovered that if I flew the plane anyway the correct texture, the one I chose, actually showed up on the runway. Once I did that the Misty's texture now shows up after selecting it. Go figure. Good thing. I would rather commit sepu-ku than re-install FSX.

Yay!  Would hate for you to have to do that sepuku thing.  BTW, what are your cruise ships doing back there? ???  Looks like one is sinking.  :o

That does look like a possible problem.
