I like the MILVIZ 407 and their 530F.
The dodo sim 206 is top of the line.

av8rjm,

In addition to what Tenpin suggested which are nice helos, if you are particular with the FDE behavior aspect of helis you fly, try look into Cerasim models B222, B412, B212 or UH60 as well as AS Huey X which may have medevac/HEMS variants that may come with it or designed by 3rd parties as downloadable freeware repaints.

Flying a helicopter - the most fun you can have with your hand between your legs and not go blind.

Hi av8rjm,
If you are looking for payware helicopters for FSX I'll suggest the following ones:
- DoDo sim 206 FSX ( Bell 206BIII Jetranger),
the number heli in FSX regarding FDE, if a Jetranger is suitable as medivac you should decide by your own.
- Aerosoft Huey X ( Bell UH1),
the cockpit layout is a replica of the formerly german heeresflieger UH-1D helicopter, but it has nice FDE's.
- MilViz 407 (Bell 407),
I like it flying very much, fast and agile, is in use as medivac.
- MilViz 530F (MD helicopters MD 530F),
very nice flying, stable in hover, it's a very good hot and high workhorse for slingloads,
- Cerasim Bell412 (Bell 412EP),
very good system depth, in combination with HTR (helicopter total realism mod) a dream to fly, still one of my favourites.
- Cerasim Bell212 (Bell 212),
same as Cerasim's 412 above.
- Cerasim Bell222 ((Bell 222),
Use it with jordan Moore's FDE fix avaiable at hovercontrol.com, it includes a medivac version.
- Cerasim UH60L (Sikorsky UH-60L),
Fast cruise and stable in Hover, a nice US coastguard repaint is avaiable at hovercontrol.com though it's not really a Jayhawk.
- FS heli Lama X (AS315b Lama),
Very good FDE's, hoist for medivac included.
- MilViz CH47D (Boeing CH47D Chinook),
Well not a medivac I know, but a great workhorse for slingloading, want to lift a 15.000 lbs shipping container? The Chinook will be your choice.
- Nemeth AS350 (airbus helicopters AS350),
Very fast and agile, great fun flying, but a bit tricky installing the needed patches and FDE's, medivac version included.
- Nemeth AW109 (Agusta Westland AW109)'
With the needed patches a nice helicopter though I have not often flown it, medivac

Finally there are a few more nice freeware helicopters, some have special medivac versions:
- Hovercontrol Bell412EP, a great free alternative to the Cerasim 412, different versions like medivac avaible at hovercontrol.com
- Dirk Fassbender's AS332 ( Airbus helicopters AS332L),
created by a real world AS332 pilot, great package with great Features, for sure better as some payware products.
- H + S EC135 FSX (Airbus helicopters H135),
Great package of the medivac helicopters itself, dozens of options can be configured to get the AC you like. A way better than the payware Nemeth EC135 I think.
- Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations Bell206, beautiful alternative to default FSX Jetranger,
- Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations Bell222, free alternative to cerasim payware Bell222.

I hope this helps in finding a helo you like. :)

I think that Klaus covered it well.  The only one I might add is the Flysimware Huey II.  It has a version with a droppable basket hoist, a fire tank, a water bucket, and is not a bad flyer with a few changes to the FDE.

Other than that, pickings are slim.

Thanx to one and all, there's a lot to digest here, I forgot all about the EH101 I pulled it out of the FSX/simobject /heli file, guess I'll have to put it back. Thinking I'll go for the freeware first and then go to the payware as finances allows

On top of the excelent advice here please consider the great work from Jordan Moore at Hovercontrol, who recently posted updates on the flight dynamics of several of the mentioned payware and free helicopters:

The forum thread:
http://www.hovercontrol.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi?s=25885cc301c8739e614b27ec59e4cc99;act=ST;f=1;t=20318;st=40

And the direct link to the updates:
http://www.hovercontrol.com/flightdynamics/flightdynamics.zip

I have applied them to all my helis and they are amazing for realism!
