But it is available for download, just got it and will see what is in the files before I use it.  I have Misty's Place working and want to keep it that way.  Not that I do not trust the files, just always good to make sure.

Dieter ... that is not a "working" icon, it is there to explain to people to look for the "S" icon on the scenery files so they can download a sound. I didn't want to put up a whole list of the sound files when they are already attached at each scenery download location.  So that icon is not "linked" ... I'll fix it to make it clearer.

Thanks for explaining. Maybe I'm not the only one who didn't get it.  :-[

Dieter ... check it now and see if it is better explained.  This is the kind of a mistake we can make easily on this end because it is so obvious to "us' ... but it is not always "that" obvious to others.  This was a good catch, things like that we want to be clear.  Thank you.  We never consider these things criticisms when we can make it better for folks.

Just wanted to say that the fix was not discovered by myself.  Most of the thanks is deserved by Canuck21a who made the original post about mismatched file names I just did not alter the .bgl files due to the more complex method that entails.  I just went the reverse of that and renamed the .fx files to match the .bgl callout.

I seem to be missing this Service Pack for Misty's Place.  I can't see any mention of it in the NOTAMs page and I can't see it on the Scenery download page.  (Apologies if my eyes are failing me.)

I've just downloaded the <misty's_place_sound.zip> file from the Sounds link on the Scenery page and unzipped it to a temporary folder.  I've checked the bgl files with bgl2xml and most of them are still calling the wrong fx file names (as per cannuck21a's original post).

This is what I see:

Correct file name:  fx_misty_cabin_fire.fx
File name being called:  fx_MistyCabinFire

Correct file name:  fx_misty_cabin_gulls.fx
File name being called:  fx_MistyCabinGulls

Correct file name:  fx_misty_cabin_wind.fx
File name being called:  fx_MistyCabinWind

Correct file name:  fx_misty_light_gulls.fx
File name being called:  fx_MistyLightGulls

Correct file name:  fx_misty_bar.fx
File name being called:  fx_MistyBarMusic

Correct file name:  fx_misty's_hangar.fx
File name being called:  fx_Misty'sHangar

Correct file name:  fx_misty's_place_night.fx
File name being called:  fx_Misty'sPlaceNight

I can correct it for myself but I thought you'd want it right in the download.

Graham,
the file you want is named misty's_place_service_pack1.zip.  I do not see it on the scenery page perhaps admin can direct you to the correct place to get the file.

Thanks, Spud, but I've just downloaded the misty's_place_v2.1.zip file again from the ZIP icon and I can't see anything to do with sound in it.  It doesn't contain a sounds .zip file or any .wav files or any .fx files.  And it only contains 3 bgl files, none of which appear to call any sound effect files.

[EDIT:  I see you changed your post while I was replying, Spud.  Good to know you can't see it either.]

Sorry Graham,
I revised my post to the correct file name but you must have read the incorrect post before I corrected the file name.

Dex, Doug, anybody,
I have been looking at, downloading, deleting, and generally screwing around with the Misty sound files today until I can no longer keep track of what's what, and what's not what!

Can one or both of you provide a list of all the files that should be in the Misty's Place folders?  I have a main folder that has a subfolder named  scenery in which there are the following files:

misty_cabin_campfire_fxs.bgl
misty_cabin_gulls_fsx.bgl
misty_wind_fsx.bgl
misty_light_gulls.bgl
misty's_bar_crowd_fsx.bgl
misty's_bar_music_fsx.bgl
misty's_hangar_fsx.bgl
misty's_place_environment_fsx.bgl
misty's_place_night_fsx.bgl
misty's_place_v21.bgl
PF20_ADEX_KG.BGL
PF20_ADEX_KG_CVX.bgl

Is this all I'm supposed to have in the Misty's Place Scenery folder?

As far as I know I have all the sounds playing but I can not say for certain about the hangar sound as the other sounds are too loud and over ride this sound I think.  Now to be honest I have renamed the Misty .fx files as explained in the above posts and rather than probably screwing them up with so many different updates, replacement or new files I just kept what I had that works.

Frankly I can not really determine if the scenery files and the sound files on the download board are the correct ones or not.  It appears that the sound download is not correct but this is more a guess, gut feeling than being able to say for sure, due to this old man's confusion.

Spud ... try this. Delete it all and start over, it's not that difficult to do. That's what I do here when there is an update or whatever.  Just go to you addon scenery file for Misty's Place and delete all the files. Download the zip, open it and put the files in it. Download the Sound file, open it and put the sounds where they belong.  Nice and clean.

That way you'll have the latest that is there with no "orphans" from before.  Just a suggestion.
