Hi Wallydog69 and welcome to RTMM!

Dex (who has P3Dv2...I don't ...yet) tells me that the AI Shipping packages work in P3Dv2 but some of the ships don't show wakes.  He and Jan will be looking into that.

I want to concur I have the same finding.  They seem to be working and I have seen ships with wakes and without.

Another thing I have noticed is those ships that have wakes, some are normal color ( white ) and some are a beautiful sunset in color. This could have to do with the HDR and the different shaders used in P3D.

Yes, that was identified on the day thet Lockheed Martin released 2.0.  They don't  seem to be interested is a solution.  I am waiting for our wake expert to get his copy of P3D v2.  He has paid for it but for some reason can't get the registration email from Lockheed Martin.  It's the old "finger pointing" thing.   Perhaps he will get it sorted out.

Well Gentlmen,

I did the step over to P3D2 the day it was released. Today with cloud shadows rushing over the plane and making the country flacked and terrain shadows it is a new world out there. I, however, feel lonely up there...

It would be great to have the AI shipping traffic back in the Misty Moorings!

Copy your boat and traffic files from FSX.

o.k. Will do.

But could you go a little more into details? Exactly what files do I need to copy?
Thanks,
Till

Hi Till,
Go into your FSX/simobjects folder.  There you will find a "Boats" folder.  Select all of the files in it and copy them to the corresponding P3D Boats folder.  I suggest "DO NOT OVERWRITE" existing boats.  Just let it add all the ones you don't have yet in P3D.
For the traffic files, go into your FSX/Scenery/World/scenery folder and select all "traffic" files that you wish to run in P3D.  The file names should give clues to who they are and what they do.  Copy those and paste them into P3D's scenery/world/scenery folder.
Restart P3D and go flying.  Be sure to turn on AI traffic and shipping.  Good luck.

Jeff ... just checking myself.  If, when you pull up FSX/Scenery/World/Scenery, if you click on the top of the name column, then everything alphabetizes ... and all the "traffic..." files are together. You can grab them all and put them into P3D.  But if you don't do this, be VERY careful you don't pick off an "elevation" file ... it is EASY to do.

Yes, I'd agree with that.  You could group all the "traffic_" files together and grab them easily that way.  But be sure to check the list for other traffic files you might want that are not started with the word "traffic", eh.

Thanks, Doug and Jeff!

Much appreciated! I hope that I find the time to do these changes shortly but today I picked up CYSE and am eager to fly there tonight (after a long day in the office...).

When you see a vessel without a wake or strange colors, try to get the name and I will look into a fix for that particular vessel.
