Windsock Added - Wilson River Lodge

Wilson River Lodge now has an operational windsock ... we'll be adding these to places that need them. If you re-download the file, the windsock will be there ... but NO other changes are made to the scenery, so the download is optional.

We will be adding operational windsocks of all of the Misty Airports. We will announce them in batches, so as not to fill up the News and Notams thread.

Updates ...

1. The windsock project is complete, go to the thread listed in the previous post for the final list of changes. This includes all of the ice stations in CIRP.
2. Misty's Place
    A. New Starting Points have been added
    B. A Fuel depot has been placed at Misty's Place. One of the new starting points is the fuel pump.
3. Steve is still working on the new library update as well as some more surprises for everyone.
4. Hang Em High is finished, but we will wait on the new libraries.
5. We are initiating a fuel depot project, adding "triggers' to many of the fuel depots we have on the docks at many of the RTMM locations. This will be a longer-range project and we'll need your help as the project develops. Watch for a thread at the Addon Scenery Area.

Misty's Place Update and Misc

Misty's Place has been updated (again). Some requested new starting points and a heli starting point. So now the folder has all of these plus an active fuel trigger and windsocks (put in before).  There is also an active NDB on freq. 359 that will get you home "direct" on a clear day when you can fly higher. It is located at the end of the 35 Rwy.

NOTAM: Important... be sure you DELETE the old Misty's Place Folder and REPLACE it with the new download. We've made some file name changes and if you "overwrite" you will have all kinds of problems with doubles of things. It is always safer to use the "Delete/Replace" method of updating RTMM files for this reason.

We've changed the column sizes on the Here2There starting points table. We'll now be able to use the 4 digit lat/long "seconds" delineation. This will put you exactly where you need to be.  I'm doing this mostly for the helicopters that need more critical placement with the helipads. We will begin adding the "4 digit" seconds one at a time.

Refueling Project and Misty's Place (another update for NDB)

Fuel Management Project: We have outlined the Fuel Management Project on THIS THREAD. So we now have a basic strategy.

NDB's for Misty Moorings: We will be putting NDB's into many of the PFxx airports as we put in the fuel triggers. For the frequency, we will be putting a 10 ahead of the PFxx airport number.

Misty's Place Updated: Misty's Place is PF20, so it's NDB is 1020. It's call sign is now
(MST _ _  ... _).

So there is a new Misty's Place Download (again!).

Khutzeymateen River Bear View Lodge - Update 12.13.2014

PF01, the Khutzeymateen River Bear View Lodge, was our first scenery location. It was created by Brad Allen and Kim Gowney. It has since been renovated and updated by Rod Jackson. The location now has it's own "fuel start box" and an you can get fuel at the active pumps.  This is our FEATURED LOCATION right now. If you haven't been to the lodge, now is the time to go. There is a LOW and SLOW (and a little white-knuckle) flight seeing trip for this location. All of this is available on the Scenery Page under "K".

This is an exciting trip and a beautiful final location.

Prince William Sound and Waypoints by Brad Allen and Dieter Linde

Prince William Sound by Brad Allen is "up". This is a multiple location scenery folder that will give you some great hours of low and slow exploring in the Prince William Sound area. Dieter Linde has created a cvs file for it for Plan G.  Our thanks to Brad and Dieter for these fine additions.

You can find the new Prince William Sound scenery under "P" on the scenery page.
You can find the Prince William Sound.cvs file for Plan G at RTMM Waypoints (Misty's Place).

Wolverine Airstrip Fall Textures Added

The missing fall textures for the Wolverine Airstrip are now ready for download under "W" on the Scenery page. As is policy here at RTMM, to update this do it the SAFE way ... DELETE the old scenery folder and ADD the new one. File names can change and you can get duplicates.

Airport Facilities Tables - (On the FAQ Page)

The new Airport Facilities Tables are ready for use on the FAQ page. Mostly these include the additions of Windsocks, NDB's and Fuel Boxes (startups at the fuel box). Every PFxx and TFxx airport now has its on operational windsock and "operational" fuel pump per the indications on the tables. (There are some exceptions, look at the colors on the tables for specifics). The NDB's are OPTIONAL and can be downloaded separately from a file beneath the tables, read the instructions carefully, you DO NOT have to install the optional NDBs.

Download or not? If you are not interested in these small upgrades, then there is no need for you to re-download any of the airports or scenery areas.  If you do want the update, you can get it directly from the FAQ table by clicking on the location name. OR you can still get it from the scenery page .. those too are all updated.

For NEW USERS: For new users who have not downloaded any of these, disregard the downloads on the tables and download from the  Scenery Page, the updates are included there. The links on the Airport Facilities tables are only for the convenience of users who already have these locations downloaded and wish to update their location.

REMEMBER, play it SAFE!  Delete the old scenery folder and add the new one. The scenery folder names are the same.  It is not SAFE to overwrite, you may get duplicate files with "similar" names.

Using the Tables: The top two tables will probably not change unless there is a new airport added. These become a handy reference for you if you are interested in fuel management, are a heli pilot and need the wind direction, etc. The last table, (Table 3) , will change as we find locations that need windsocks, (Optional) NDB's and active fuel pumps. But that table will only be for UPDATES to present scenery locations. Any new scenery locations will be announced here in the NOTAMs and will be downloaded from the Scenery Page per usual.

MOST IMPORTANT!!!! Read the instructions for each table before using it. Everything you need to know is explained there. If it is not, let us know and we'll get it fixed to make it easier for you.  These upgrades represent about 100 hours of time from the team, we hope you enjoy them.

Karta River Run - by Doug Linn

There is a new Karta River Run (for boats) that leaves from the Brad's BBQ at Hollis and winds up the river passing four scenery locations along the way. You use the MAP feature of your sim to locate yourself at the lat/long for Brad's BBQ Hollis. The lat/long is in the readme, it is also on the startup table on the Here2There. This is an easy river trip ... very pretty in the summer.

This is a BOATING excursion, so you will find it under KARTA RIVER on the Moorings (boating) page.

FTX EU Norway - PLAN-G Csv File (By Dieter Linde)

We've uploaded the new csv file for FTX EU Norway. Dieter has made the file for you and we have hosted this on "Dieter's Corner" (Misty's Place/RTMM Waypoints) under "Non-RTMM" software by Dieter. If you click on the link there, you'll have all of the key datapoints for Plan G for FTX EU Norway.  Thank you Dieter.

Google Earth KMZ files for SAK, PFJ and PNW added to Misty's Place/Reference Maps

We've added zip files and direct kmz files to the Reference Maps at Misty's Place for SAK, PFJ and PNW. These are used to see the areas we utilize in RTMM on Google Earth.

Scenery Object Library Part III - A significant update

Steve Weinkamer, with a little help from Rod Jackson have expanded the number of objects we can use in RTMM.  Steve has also begun making his own objects, many of which will show in the new locations that are being uploaded today.  If you already have Part I and Part II, there is no need to download these again. You only need to add Part III.  When you do download Part III, read the instructions for installation completely and carefully.  Often we just rush to install these things ... but we have to be VERY CAREFUL on the Object Library Folders because they are SO critical to success with RTMM.  Remember also, we have a new Topic on the Forum for Scenery Object Libraries ... if you have problems or questions with these, you have a place to go to discuss the problem you are having and there will be people there to help you out.  Please don't be shy. The Object Libraries are the most difficult step in enjoying RTMM ... we are there to help you through this critical step.

Also, the Scenery Object Tester has been updated, a new object at position #9 (Brad's BBQ) has been added so you can make sure your new Part III library is working properly.

The new Part III Object Library is ready for download on the Object Libraries Page.

You can get there from Misty's Place, click on the Object Library button.

Brad's BBQ Stewart CZST  by Doug Linn

Using some of the new objects that Steve Weinkamer has created for us (the new Brad's BBQ) we have positioned a new "Brad's" straight off the runway for CZST.  There is fuel there for you now, and another fuel station was placed by the fence at CZST for those of you needing fuel and flying CIRP.  This scenery location uses the new objects in the Part III Object Library.

Hang Em High Resorts  - by Doug Linn

Taking advantage of the new objects we have in the Part III Object Library, "Hang Em High Resorts" is now ready for download. There are two lodges, one far above on a mountaintop and a second one down below at the water level.  At the top location, there is a short and very small runway that can handle very small aircraft ("Cub size"). There is a similar small runway below ... these are very short and for ultralights and cubs only. There are helipads above and below.

On the edge of the cliff, a launcher has been placed. A tiny concrete runway that goes out over the edge of the cliff. Coming off this with an ultralight is a real thrill when the "bottom drops out" below you and suddenly you are at 3500 feet!!  You can also use the "jumping man" parachute object (discussed in the readme). You can jump off the launcher, free-fall for a while, then open your chute and land at the lower lodge. Parasails and ultralights are a lot of fun.  Also, there are animated parasail objects ... two circling above the top lodge, one "landing" at the upper helipad, and one landing at the lower helipad.  Just sitting back watching the parasails is a lot of fun.

Nearby, about halfway to the logging facility at Dora Bay, you'll find a new Brad's BBQ.  This one is on a barge that has a helipad on the back of it, a new object created by Steve Weinkamer.  You'll see this object often as we place it almost anywhere. There is a matching tug boat that can pull it around (not in this scenery package). When you go TO the location, an amphibian or float plane is necessary (unless you are flying a cub or an ultralight). The scenery package is ready for download from the Scenery Page under "H".

See a beautiful VIDEO for Hang Em High by Robert Pomerleau HERE   ... Don't miss it!!!

The new Part III Object Library is necessary for this scenery location.
