Greetings All:
 Read some good things about Misty Moorings so this morning I bought the Tongas Fjords X and hope to enjoy the scenery with you.
Many years ago I spent six months in Alaska flying out of Elmendorf AFB. My co-pilot was from Seward so I was treated to some really good times (even
if out tour did start October 1st). Also spent some weeks in Vancouver and Victoria.
Some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen.

     I am curious where you "read about us" at.  It's good to hear about when someone finds us.  Come to think about it, I can't remember how I discovered RTMM back in 2011.  Glad to have you here.  Let us know if we can help with your acclimation.    ;)

welcome to this place!  Low n' Slow is the name of the game at RTMM so kindred spirits are abundant.  Flying down "IN" the scenery brings so much more to flight simming and this is the place to maximize that experience.
If you have any questions as Rod says just ask.  Misty's Place is the watering hole where we will meet you so as the 'newbie' you can buy the beer!   ;D

I'm completely new and discovered this project after installing PNW from ORBX and lookins for some free sceneries for VFR flights in this area!

Hello and welcome to RTMM, flo1981.  You're in the right place to get free scenery locations.  Take some time to just read the forums.  There are years of information collected within these threads.  If you need help,just ask.   ;)  We have a few french pilots here too, so language is no problem, usually.

Welcome aboard flo1981,
A great deal of content available here at RTMM but the board is quite extensive and as Jeff says reading is going to aid in understanding just how much free scenery is offered.
You have PNW from ORBX and there are a "few" location withing that ORBX region but as you will see reading the site most of RTMM is located further north and requires ORBX PFJ and SAK plus FSAddon's Tongass X.  These of course are payware so it might take you some time to save enough to buy them.  ORBX right now is having their annual Christmas sale at 33% off so PFJ and SAK would be less costly this month.  As a member of RTMM FSAddon gives a discount for Tongass X but I can't recall exactly how much.
Now for the important part:  Meet the crowd at Misty's Bar so as the 'newbie' you can buy the beer!!!  ;D

I just got all the required stuff installed and a couple of the sceneries to test with.  Looks good so far.

As background, I'm a retired mechanical engineer with about 20 years in FS.  I started out in VERT and after several va's am now an escapee from a military va with about 2500 hours (about 500 hours in helos),  This looks like a great place to just relax and explore.  I'll see about a civilian va later or may run a USCG helo station, we'll see.

Right now I just did Misty's Place and the legacy stuff for testing.  Over the next few days, I'll settle on some others and keep testing.

This is a fantastic  piece of work and so far, it looks great!
