Problems with Dispatch Mission(s)
« on: March 25, 2013, 10:23:06 AM »
Found this amazing site last week  8), downloaded and installed the legacy pack and some other sceneries, and tried a lookaround using dispatch #1 and 2. But unfortunally I am unable to get it working. I've checked depend packagea, installation instructions the whole weekend again and again, but could find the error.
I've enabled the LoadError flag in fsx.cfg, and it report some errors:
For Dispatch #1:

It seems something is missing, or not properly installed, but what?
For reference, this is the filelist of the ..\mission folders:
http://www.sigwx.de/tmp/RTMMerrors/mission_folders.txt
and my  Scenery.cfg

Hope, someone could help. Thanks in advance. Hope you aren't so busy testing the new SAK Scenery  ;)

Hello Andreas,
Welcome to RTMM.  That is a model from Xavier's library of people.  Make sure you have ALL libraries installed.  Also, Dispatch one ends at Wilson River Lodge.  So be sure to have that installed too, as well as the US Forest Service cabins, Herring Bay cannery, Nina's Landing, George Inlet cannery, and Misty's Place.  For Dispatch two, you will need Yes Bay Lodge.   ;)

Edit- You DON'T actually need any of the locations in order for the missions to work.  But it's nice to have the destinations showing up when you get there, eh?  You DO, however, need all the library objects that the missions call for, though.  ;)  The mission won't function without all the objects it intends to call for that mission.

Hello and Thank you for the warm welcome here!

@Klaus,
moin moin from Hamburg/Germany  ;)

@all
Yes, I think I have all depend scenery installed.
Nina's Landing and George Inlet  are part of the Legacy Package. I've checked it more then twice. You can kindly check my scenery.cfg here:   http://www.sigwx.de/tmp/RTMMerrors/scenery.cfg
Sometimes, more than 2 eyes see more ::)

To me it looks like, that there is generally something wrong. When trying Dispatch #2, I've got other Loaderrors. Any ideas, where to search and what to try?

Andreas,

Have you installed our scenery object tester? This will help us confirm if you have all of the required object libraries installed. Please install this in your sim as instructed in the readme, then compare what you get with what the Scenery Object tester sample image should look like.

Please show us what you get after installing the object tester. If you already have that installed, please show us what you see at PANT airport at that location that matches the object tester sample image.

Go to this page if you haven't already and install the Scenery Object Tester.

Yes, the object tester works well, and it shows every object .
I've tried and checked all files the last 3 hrs. I've extracted and reinstalled the Dispatch #1 mission. Then I've checked manually BGL-Files of Nina's Landing and Wilsons river lodge. The only missing Scenery is
"Wilson Narrows cabin". I didn't find it not in the download list. Finally I forced rebuilding all scenery indeces, but nothing helps.

I think the Wilson Narrows cabin is one of the USFS cabins, not an individual scenery package.

Make sure that the order of your Scenery Library is -

Object Libraries at the top, then
RTMM scenery addons (I place them alphabetically)
OZx (OZx and FTX entry points are determined by the "FTX Central Insertion Point tool".)
FTX  (Set it above your first non-orbx addon.)
(all non-orbx scenery below FTX)
Tongass Fjords goes below FTX also.

Here is a picture of "Nina's People"(Woman_Standing_Modele_3) waiting at Nina's Landing.  They're not part of the Nina's Landing package, they are part of the dispatch mission.  ;)

...  They're not part of the Nina's Landing package, they are part of the dispatch mission.  ;)

Ok, now we know why it can't work.  There are no Scenery files in RTMM Dispatch 1v2.zip, and there are also no scenery folders or .bgl files in RTMM Dispatch 2a.zip. Where can I find it?

Missions don't have "scenery" folders or BGL files.  They use an XML document, flight file, and sound files.

Hi Jeff,

and thank you for your patience.

Meanwhile I've installed every file, I could find here. Of course I respected the scenery library order, as documented here on the site. But I'm sorry, all 3 of your missions are not working. No sound, no mission pointer. with Debug option on, in every mission load errors wher reported, like described above.

The other missions here, all Lost Tresure, Maze, Wing and a Prayer are working very well.

Wish you all happy Easter.

Andreas

Go to your RTMM Dispatch 1 folder, open the RTMMDispatch1.flt file in notepad.  Scroll to the bottom of the document.  There should be a statement similar to:

[ResourcePath]
Path=missions\return to misty moorings\rtmm dispatch 1\
[ObjectFile]
File=RTMMDispatch1

Make sure the path is correct for your installation
Did you create a "Return to Misty Moorings" mission category in FSX?

Happy Easter to all. ;)

Hi Jeff,

I've checked all Path and Resource Entries in Dispatch1/2/3.flt, and checked the Mission path in a DOS-Box to avoid typing errors. Category entry ist set, and in load flight menue all three dispatch missions where listed properly under Return to Misty Moorings.

Here are all 3 load errors of Dispatch#1 in sequence. Hope it helps to come closer to the problem.

All errors are caused by the "woman standing . . . " model from Xavier Carre's Ceyx Scenery library?  Make sure you have the most recent update for Ceyx scenery library properly installed and activated in FSX.  Do you have CX_People.bgl, dated 2/1/2012?

Picture:  "Nina's people" successfully delivered to Wilson River Lodge.
(I just ran the mission again to make sure it works for me.  It does.)

SUCCESS  8) With the filename, I've found the reason in a minute. Of course the Ceyx scenery library was installed first, but after, I've installed all other files, and the Jedway Bay Seabase package contains an older Ceyx lib:

CX_People.bglCeyX_Sceneries_Libraries_2012_12_10.zip5,10 MB  10.02.2012 19:26CeyX_Sceneries_Libraries_2012_12_10\CeyX_Sceneries_Libraries\scenery\
CX_People.bgl Jedway Bay Seabase.zip12.03.2011 16:34113 KBCeyX_Sceneries_Libraries\scenery\

The 1st test was very funny, started #2 mission, and instead of an error box, it played the Military - Revelle *ROFL*

Thank you very much Jeff. Think, I will have a challenging FS evening  ;)

Andreas,
I would recommend one thing you do is to disable the load error flag unless you actually do have a problem as in this case.  I have noticed it sometimes flags load errors and the scenery works just fine.  If you install scenery and all textures are showing on objects etc. then the scenery is probably working correctly.  While testing some earlier scenery with the Load Error Flag set it sometimes worked OK and other times it just led us to a dead end.  As a tool in my opinion it is problematical.
Glad you did get the Mission working.
