« on: January 19, 2013, 11:23:10 AM »
I post here in case anyone has had simmilar problems and accept that its not rtmm related so appologies in advance.

when I fly in the SE of England [biggin hill] I get a ctd. Moving to other airports [Gatwick , Redhill] its the same, go west to cardiff and all is ok. I have disabled my vfr and other scenery but the problem still persists. If I try in France Perpignan {Rivesalts} its also ok.
I tried looking for duplicate bgl's etc but cant see a problem any idears would be most welcome. one last thing is there a log I can look at to see whats going wrong

Windows 7 Event Viewer will show you some detail on a FSX crash.

Click on Windows logo at bottom  left and then put Event Viewer in search box.  At the top op the popup under programs should be Event Viewer....click on that and you will be taken to the Windows 7 Event Viewer.  Expand the Windows Logs folder and click on Application.  All of the Application events will be listed by date starting with the most current.....scroll down looking for items with the red ball with exclamation point in it....the "error" level.    If the source says "Application Error" then click on it and the first piece of information listed is the faulting application name....if it is "FSX" then you have found one instance of an FSX Application Error...one important things to look for is what was the faulting module?

Then you would have to discuss the error on the ORBX board or some other FSX support discussion.

Hope this helps.

A google of api.dll came up with a number of suggestions which I had already tried with-out success. Then came a suggestion to try bojote's [jesus Altuve] cfg auto editor. This cracked it im not sure which parameter that particular area did not like but I have managed to fly fo 20 or so minutes without problems.
still cant undestand why I coulds go to other areas with out problems never mind

Hi Lipra,
There is a thread here that is dealing with the api.dll file.  Check it out.  If you have FSX+Accel, it may be what you need.  (or not) ;)

PS - I've been using it, (the modified api.dll file), and it works fine for me.
