Amazing Maze
« on: August 16, 2012, 05:07:19 PM »
Hi all,

Just finished The Maze. Beautiful ride! When hasty you could ofcourse take a short cut, but it makes me think of an saying we have where I come from: 'A hasty ride is seldem right.' This low level scenery flying is of my liking very much. Thanks for that.

Happy flying,  :)

As Slowhand, I really enjoyed this mission  :)

But, as Sunrise Supply Run, it did not been validated on arrival because my airport Stewart is not that of RTMM but that of Orbx and I did not get the message of successful mission or not.
It does not matter, I know I have succeeded my mission  :P

Thank you, Brad, for these missions  ;)

Completed the "AMAZING MAZE" mission and get confirmation at the end.
However, I now have the HUD compass showing up at all FSX startups.
It appears as though the mission is still active and that I missed a waypoint??
I can close the HUD with that option but it keeps coming back??
Anyone with a suggestion on what I have to do to get rid of the HUD compass?

Hi Edwin
What does the compass say.  Is it pointing to something?  Can you post a screenshot please.  You said you completed the mission.  Did you press "Esc" to exit the mission?

Try this.  When you start FSX, go to the Free Flight screen and LOAD a previous saved flight from an earlier time.  Check the box to make that flight the DEFAULT.  That's the check box at the bottom of the saved flights list window.  Start the flight and fly around.  Is the mission pointer gone?

If it is, then save the flight, and make it default again, then press "Esc" to exit the flight.

I use to have FSUIPC "auto-save" my flights at regular intervals to a flt file named "Previous Flight, in case my PC crashes?  Then I could restart at the last auto-saved position.  So when I fly a mission, it was saving to my "Previous Flight" save file instead of the mission save file.  It saved to my free flight save file as a mission causing similar results you described when I load the "Previous Flight" file in free flight.  If you do that, you should turn auto-save off while you fly missions.
