New Type of VA
« on: May 08, 2012, 01:44:53 PM »
Hey guys. I have been a little busy working on something instead of the Scenery.
With all of the custom scenery it requires a custom Virtual Airline so I created one.
http://vnac.org/vnacmain/index.php/

We are now looking for Pilots. Take a look around ;)

Sign up to start flying to all of the places in Misty!!!

OK, I'm signed up (even though I already fly to all the places in Misty ;)).  I've parked my beaver at Misty's Place, and found a bunk to call my own in the cabin out back.  Thanks Chris.

OK Jeff!! you been flying your butt off tonight. I get an email everytime you submit a Pirep.
So now you need to provide some feed back on what you think. ;D

I still have a lot of work to do but I think that this is what we have been missing.

I am going to add an Event section and tours section after I get a few more flight plans done.

Yep, I'm flyin'.  I like "flying with a purpose" (not porpoise).  Racking up the air miles.  Almost 20 minutes under my belt so far.  Only 99 hours and 40 minutes to go.  LOL.  OH, I can't talk now, I gotta fly to Wilson narrows.  Later.

The PIREP system seems to be working great.  No lag or errors.  So far, so good.  I did notice on the "Live Map" that my departure and arrival icons are mis-placed.  When starting at Misty's, the icon for it was at/near Metlakatla, or Annette Island.  But my aircraft position icon was correctly placed.

I'm off to Wilson River Lodge to complete my dispatch.  Virtual people are waiting.

(No, these pictures aren't from my current VA flight, but they are from dispatch 1.  I am making a "Dispatch 1" mission for FSX.  What a coincidence.)

With only Buffalo Airways for comparison, I'd say this is much different/better/more interesting than the Northwest Territories.   I like it.

I too have been tinkering with a VA idea for use in the RTMM areas. It's a FedEx division that covers a large area of SE Alaska, PFJ, PNW and NRM/BC. I have some aircraft repaints done for the Carenado 206 Amphibian found on AVSIM and Flightsim.com by searching those respective file libraries using my name: Brad Allen

These FedEx C206 aircraft repaints were done for FS2004 but can be converted for use in FSX. I did these for use with my FedEx scenery for FS9 that used several locations in our regions where I added small FedEx depots. PAPG, PAWG, PAKW, PAKT, PASI, PAJN, PAGY, PAYA, PAGS, PANC and a couple others I think we're done. I know that these older scenery files won't fit inside our current ORBX world too well so I might have to remake these for use in FSX.

If you all are okay with that, once Southern Alaska arrives from ORBX I may redo the entire collection of my previous FedEx scenery locations for use here at RTMM!  :) For now, I could make a small FedEx depot at PAKT (default) that a FedEx repaint can park at and then add the four Tongass Fjords airports, PAKW, PAWG, PAPG and PASI. It would be nice to see vNAC hangars and my FedEx hangars side by side at these airports in the future. What do you all think?

I can add the routes and note them as Fedex routes. That would be nice.
I also can add Fedex as an optional airline within the VNAC if you would like.

Jeff I also noticed that, what it is doing is looking for the nearest airport in its database. It is a link. Being that some of the plces we fly are not in the real world it will try and get close.  ;)

Adding a FedEx division would be great. I have further details about the FedEx division. Here goes:

FedEx Pacific Northwest Operations

Operations Base/Main Hub
Anchorage (PANC)
------
Regional Operations Headquarters

Glacier Bay Region HQ (PAJN)
Tongass Fjords Region HQ (PASI)
Pacific/Misty Fjords Region HQ (PAKT)
--------

Regional Offices/Depots

Glacier Bay Regional Office HQ
Juneau (PAJN)

Depots
Yakutat (PAYA)
Skagway (PAGY)
Gustavus (PAGS)
Haines Junction (CYHT)
Yellowknife (CYZF)
--------

Tongass Fjords Regional Office HQ
Sitka (PASI)

Depots
Petersburg (PAPG)
Wrangell (PAWG)
Kake (PAKE)
Telegraph Creek (CBM5)
--------

Pacific/Misty Fjords Regional Office HQ
Ketchikan (PAKT)

Depots
Klawock (PAKW)
Prince Rupert (CYPR)
Stewart (CZST)
Sandspit (CYZP)
Bella Coola (CYBD)
--------

Aircraft Fleet

Main Hub
Anchorage (PANC)
4 - Boeing 737-800

Regional
Glacier Bay HQ
Juneau (PAJN)
2 - Cessna 208 Grand Caravan
2 - Cessna 206 Amphibian Stationair

Regional
Tongass Fjords HQ
Sitka (PASI)
2 - Cessna 208 Grand Caravan
2 - Cessna 206 Amphibian Stationair

Regional
Misty/Pacific Fjords HQ
Ketchikan (PAKT)
2 - Cessna 208 Grand Caravan
2 - Cessna 206 Amphibian Stationair

Pilot Operators based at Main Hub (PANC) only fly FedEx Boeing 737-800 Aircraft to/from Regional Office Headquarters to/from Main Hub.

Pilot Operators based at Regional Offices Headquarters only fly FedEx Cessna 208B aircraft to/from Regional Depots.

Pilot Operators based at Regional Depots only fly suitable aircraft to/from area destinations. These would only be properly cargo rated Float planes and bush/cargo planes.

--------

So for our example. I base myself at PF20. I get a job to fly some cargo from PAKT out to several places in my area. I wake up and take my boat to the PAKT airport. Let's say the deliveries go to Hunter Bay, then Fleet Bay and then Annette Island before returning to PAKT. Then my second run takes me from PAKT to PAKW in a C208. Once thats delivered, I use a C206 Amphibian at Klawock to deliver to some destinations near PAKW. I get some cargo added there that goes to Hollis, then out to Forrester Island before returning to Klawock. I can then return to PAKT in the C208 and end my day.

Ok I added the FDX airline for Fedex and added all the hubs.
I have posted what is needed for Routes in the vNac Forum.
That way I am not taking up space here at RTMM. :P
