General Discussion / Re: CIRP
« on: Today at 09:03:47 AM »
Thank you from the team. This is one of the more amazing projects we have done. The contrast, especially in summer, between the lower lush Misty Fjords and the high ice of the glaciers is amazing.  Don’t forget to try the ground routes and dispatches using the Stalwart and (coming soon) the CIRP hovercraft. It is possible to take the Hovercraft from Summit Ice Station to Soule Landing, water to Stewart, go up river then up the glacier at Mt Pattullo. The water capabilitygives you access to both sides.  You will find the weather can be a real threat to air operations, pretty exciting at times. However, when the weather is bad, going out on the ice in zero visibility in a ground vehicle to check the weather stations with only your gps is a real treasure hunt. Enjoy.

Here are the "lights" for the Hovercraft. Put this into your "aircraft.cfg" for the Hovercraft. You will see "Shockwave" lights, but if you don't have shockwave, this will still work. Enjoy.

I’ll look into that today for you.
(Still working on it ... I didn't use blowing snow so asking others for help)

Friday Morning: We are still working on it. So far, we can't see it in P3D Vxx but Jeff thinks he sees a "little" effect of it. So we are going to look into tweeking the effect if we can. So far, nothing is working ... I'll keep you posted here.

C.I.R.P. (GLACIERS!) ... has been TOTALLY Refreshed!

The entire CIRP program has been revamped, new downloads and a new dedicated CIRP page. All of the ice stations (10) are now in the SAME download zip file ... one download, all 10 stations and the ndb's too. If you look on the Scenery Page under "C" you will see all the CIRP entries, the ice stations zip, plus all of the other CIRP addons associated with the program. Everything can be downloaded in about 3 minutes now.

NOTAM: You should DELETE all of your CIRP sceneries from your Sim's Scenery Library, then add these refreshed files. DO NOT overwrite!

The CIRP Scenery Page has been totally revamped. The only thing we are really missing is the hovercraft (we are looking for a replacement). But in the meantime, the CIRP Stalwart is one heck of a land vehicle. You can download a "tricked out" Stalwart from the Land Operations table. Following the glacier dispatches, you can drive the vehicle safely out on the ice and literally cover MILES and MILES of terrain. The "Tricked out" version is set up with 3D REDUX lights if you have the program and a special modified "Ground Handling" system that give you speed control for the vehicle. The engine is souped and can send the Stalwart up very steep inclines.

For the air operations there are dispatches that will take you on various supply runs out to the 10 ice stations. All of them are equipped with an NDB so you can tune in your target station on the vehicle's ADF and find the location. This can give you some spectacular flying ... 6000 feet and higher. Weather is always a factor .. and when it is "clear" ... the view is spectacular showing you the fastness of the glacier system above the beautiful Misty Fjords.

There is an "introductory" tour on the CIRP page so you can take a tour (once you've loaded up CIRP) that will take you from PAKT to Summit Ice Station. A great way to see the transition from Fjords to Glaciers, all autopilot guided (except for altitude) so you can enjoy the tour.

All of the location downloads are done from the Scenery Page under "C". And all the information and dispatches are on the dedicated CIRP page.

OK, I see it. I don't have that file on the system any more, must be something really old. So I took that out of the faq so it wouldn't confuse folks (like me!) :-).

Thank you for finding that for us.

You might want to try  a TripTicket if you’d like to read a little narration along the way.

General Discussion / Re: Hi, I'm new! (introduce yourself here)
« on: January 10, 2019, 08:47:36 AM »
Welcome aboard, Allen. Well you will find there is plenty to do here to keep you busy. When you get settled in, try one of the medical dispatches. I’ve just re-done the documentation for it. You fly out to a casualty location, (using just a waypoint and your gps), home page right hand column/index, you land nearby bush style, then fly back to one of 35 medical facilities we’ve created...and when you arrive, medical personnel and equipment are waiting for you! Have fun, and we are all here to get you past any rough spots.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Re: RTMM's "Refresh 2019" campaign
« on: January 05, 2019, 02:46:04 PM »
Yes, fixed them. Thank you. That's the kind of thing that really helps us. Spud was our "eyes" on all of those kinds of things ... talk about missing someone with a project like this going on! So keep an eye out for us.

Another thing I'll mention here, for those who don't know, if you want to check out a location quickly after you re-load (refresh) it, you can always use the sim's "map" feature and put in the latitude and longitude listed for the "start" for that location (on the scenery page). You can quickly "be there" to check it out.  But it is a lot more fun flying to it.

Thanks again for the sharp eyes!

Misty's Place 2019 ... Refreshed and with Season Switcher

Misty's Place has been totally refreshed. A better airstrip, many options for night lighting, Season Switcher capable, highway connection to PAKT (Payware and Standard options).  This was one of Brad's first scenery locations for RTMM.  Many years later, he has made it even better. All the information you need is in the PDF readme and in the installation instructions that you can view by clicking the buttons at the bottom of the location segment on the Scenery Page.

This is out "home away from home" and it has never looked better! Look under "M" on the Scenery Page for the download.
