Major GoTo Table Update ....

Norm and I have done some major updating of the GoTo table. We have taken out the "ease of flight" column and put in the MFC flight number for all of the locations showing. So now everything matches perfectly with the Misty Flying Club page and process.

49 new maps were added where we have added flights/locations.

If you look at the "legend" table, you'll see the major "groups" there, indicating the number of locations you will get when you download that package with LINKS TO THOSE GROUPS.

NOTAM: one thing to be cautious of, if you don't have ALL of the ORBX areas for RTMM (PNW, PFJ, SAK,) and Tongass X, when you download a group, you could be downloading locations in areas that are not ORBX compatible.  To check this, once you have filtered (search) to the group you want, alphabetize the ORBX column (click at the top on ORBX). Then you can see the regions that group covers.  Don't forget to expand the table to more than 10 (usually just expand to 100 and you'll be fine).

If you see typos ... and there may be some with a couple the thousands of entries Norm and I have put in... let us know and we'll fix them for you.

Kev ... That Aerosoft Beaver amphib is a great plane, it is my favorite, we have a lot of paints for it to if you look at the repaints page.  A lot of the other floats/amphibs are sort of built in problems, nice planes, but then they are hard to turn, or stop, etc.  Check out the reviews on them before you plunk down the money.

Glad you are getting into the flight plans. We've updated the RTMM_Flight_Plans.zip just today. Lots of little updates on it as we work on the GoTo table getting everything to match.

And I've got to get the Google Earth program up there on the GoTo table page so more people are aware of it. It shows EVERY place we have so folks can again use it as a tool to decide where they want to fly. One of the best things we've added ... Simurk really brought us a jewel with that addition. (THANK YOU!)

Updating the GoTo Table

Norm and I are presently adding all of the MFC flight numbers to the GoTo Table.  Norm is adding routes where we do not have a flight and I'm getting the alphabetical order correct and the entries correct to match the flight numbers.

NOTAM: GoTo Table and Translate

When you use the GoTo table (Here2There/GoTo Button), be sure you are not first seeing the "Translate this Page" box from a browser addon.  If you see that, you are not seeing the special script that makes the filters for the page work correctly.  If you see this, in that box, select OPTIONS and select DO NOT TRANSLATE THIS PAGE. The scripts will then function and the page will work correctly for you.

Brian ... good for you! Someone is finally taking advantage of the GoTo table. I think this is the best way way to get started.  We always think we have to have EVERYTHING. But imagine if you downloaded the entire FlightSim.com, libraries and all, so you would have EVERYTHING ... it doesn't make sense. You only download what you NEED.  And what a person "needs" at RTMM is the NEXT flight.  Just tracking down the USFS cabins (already included) can give you HOURS of flying time, add the MISSING CABINS and CABINS ON THE LAKES I and II and you have a couple hundred more!

The GoTo table can help you decide what you want to fly NEXT. If you only have PFJ, then you do a search for PFJ filtering out anything that is not PFJ ... then pick from what the filtered data gives you.  Thanks for your input, great post!

Kev ... Take a look at the GoTo table. CLICK HERE  You will find many "groups" that are like packs. If you do a search for "Missing Cabins" ... you'll find a whole group of cabins that you can download with one file, activate and you'll have HOURS of fun flying to them. "Owikeeno" is another one.  The groups are in the RIGHT HAND column colored in BOLD RED.

If you go on down to the table toward the bottom of the page, you'll find the abbreviations for all those groups and a list of them.

There are over 700 locations to download ... not everybody has them all ... they download what they enjoy.  The GoTo table can make some other choices for you too. Let's say you only have Tongass X.  If you search for TFX ... you'll get all of the locations within that scenery package. Same for SAK or Pacific NorthWest PNW, etc. Don't forget, the search results start at only 10. You can open that up to 100 and see most of the things within your search parameter.

Another "group" is the USFS cabins. We have every USFS cabin in Alaska on the table. Most of the cabins you download WITHIN Tongass X, SAK and PFJ (Pacific Fjords). You already have them. But there is a "MISSING CABINS" group that you can download which gives you more than 100 more of them ... with ONE download.  So you can have hours of fun by downloading these groups and learning how to play with the GoTo table.  You'll also see Cabins by the Lakes I and II ... there are about 50 or more cabins in these two groups.

At present, You'll see Norm and I are doing a major revision on it. We are putting in the flight numbers for the MFC (Misty Flying Club) routes. Every location we have has a route to it. You can go to Here2There and download the RTMM Flight Plans.zip and you'll have over 700 flight plans at your disposal.

Also on the GoTo table, you'll find a map of the flight plan for each location. So you can see where it is, look at the difficulty, or length of the flight and make a decision whether or no to download that particular scenery location.

That's how to "start". It will give you HOURS and HOURS of flying time with only downloading a FEW locations. We all get used to downloading a "whole package" ... and at RTMM, it is just too large to do. So you download what YOU want to fly. Your choice.  Make the GoTo table work for you and be your guide as to what you download next. Add them as you want to fly them, if you stick with it, one day you'll have them all.

Thanks ALL for the inputs. Good to know about FSPassengers, makes sense it would "turn on damage" I guess. But I don't have the program so don't know. But this thread is a good one for people who run into this problem. So thank you doksas for posting it and thanks all for the ideas and answers.

Jeff, I'm watching this one too ... I am not seeing a problem here either, using P3D V4.3. I wonder if he could get an exact screenshot of "where" this is happening. Probably he knows where it crashes, if he could taxi just up to (close) to that spot and grab a screen shot, then we could look closer in IS3 and see if something is screwy there.

Agree with you. I'm looking at them from the water level working on a "float boat" trip for TWC II. And when you are down among them, the speed trees are better. So you are correct, it is all "options" :-)

OK ... I had it all wrong. Those are speed trees with 3D animated "on" that I'm seeing in the MP4 I made (link at the bottom of the scenery page). The others are the Terra Flora.  So there is no mystery. Too bad the Terra Flora trees don't move.  Well, I like the Speed Trees. The movement is great down on the water (float trips, etc).

Norm, before you install, you will have "vegetation.bgl" in the Scenery/Global/Scenery. Once you install TF, that changes to "vegetation.bgl.off" and a new one appears "vegetation_TF.bgl".  That is happening for me just fine.  Also the Scenery Library is activated. Somehow, though, it is not affecting the trees. For me, I don't think it is installing.

One major reason I have for really trying to get this to work is TWC II (coming soon). I've got the basics for a "float trip" down the river with 9 places to visit and pull out. Can you imagine a float trip on that beautiful river, with all that Rod has done, and have the water moving and the trees on the bank moving?  That will be something. 

Off subject: If anybody sees a boat that has a 5 hp motor or no motor but moves, I'm interested.  We need something to "float" in.

Has anybody got this working in P3D V4.3?   If you do, in the drop down table under your sim's "Add-ons" ... does it show there?  If anyone can get a pic of that it would be appreciated.

At the bottom of the Scenery page, I put a little table labeled Terra Flora Trees, I'm putting my documentation for this problem there. There is an MP4 of what it looked like when it was working under 4.2. Now in 4.3, not only will it not install, there are no trees moving anywhere. (I test this by being a little way AWAY from an RTMM scenery (since those are static trees), and setting the weather on "Severe Thunderstorm" ... that gives an 18 knot wind to blow the trees around.
