An incredible shot of the Blue Angels and a stunt pilot over San Francisco prior to Fleet Week.

Misty's Place / ORBX PNG
« on: September 20, 2018, 07:55:21 PM »
For those who have the ORBX Papua New Guinea region, I came across this in their flight plan forum. It's a zip file containing a circular route of the 20 airfields included in PNG, with Jackson Intl (AYPY) as the hub. Zip contains a .pln file, map, and text. Enjoy.

Misty's Place / Gold Rush TV Show Mine Co-Ordinates
« on: June 30, 2018, 09:43:05 PM »
Hi guys. Today I was at the Gold Rush Web site to see if it was coming back this season. It's not...not with the Hoffman crew, anyway. Maybe with Parker, who knows. Anyway, I found the GPS coordinates for the mines featured on the show. I went to them, absolutely nothing there. Thought it might be cool to develop them in the future to have some place to go in those barren environs. Just a suggestion.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / SAK Seaplane Bases V2.1
« on: May 27, 2018, 11:11:41 PM »
I don't see an RTMM SAK Seaplane Bases AI Traffic folder in my library, as noted as a prerequisite to make this work. I do have SAK Seaplane Bases installed dated 6/17/2016. Do I need something else or am I good to go as far as installing the title subject?

Misty's Place / Flight Plan of My Great Flight
« on: May 04, 2018, 10:08:46 PM »
Since I didn't take pictures I created a FP so you can see it for yourself. It's a long one, pack your lunch. Dinner at the Brad's BBQ at Big Fall Hydro.
Hmmm. Apparently Plan-G files aren't accepted as attachments. I'll try zipping it and see if that goes.

Misty's Place / What a Great Flight!
« on: May 02, 2018, 10:34:43 PM »
Started off with the FP Andrew Bay Dock (ANDR) from Pondosy Pass Airstrip (PF54). From there I headed West down the river checking out Dieter's CSV cabins and POI's along the way...incredible scenery and lots to check out. Worked my way North through the mountains with Plan-G to Terrace, and onto the Skeena River. Headed downriver to enjoy all the sights and sounds that area has to offer. Wound up at a Brad's Bait and BBQ for a burger and a beer, and some live Canadian Bluegrass music,
Full day of great flying. You guys have really made that whole area a treasure trove for us bush pilots. Can't thank you enough. Putting in a full day of flying really puts the whole thing into the different areas tie in with each other.
In the meantime, my wife left me and took the kids, I lost my job, and my dog ran off, but it was worth it. I'll miss the dog, though. Good dog. Black Lab. His name is Hoser in case you see him.

Help and Troubleshooting / Problem at Terrace (CYXT)

Fuel dock embedded in building. My plane is sitting at:

N54 28.29     W128 34.36 Heading of 350

Anybody else seeing this, or is the problem on my end?

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / No Fuel at Coffman Cove?
« on: April 29, 2018, 12:07:37 AM »
I wasn't desperate for fuel but was surprised to find no fuel available. There's a dock (by the green buoy) that'd be perfect for a fuel pump. Doug?

Misty's Place / Great Nephew Update
« on: April 21, 2018, 09:33:55 PM »
'Bout this time of year in 2015 I related a story about my 16 y.o great nephew, my niece's son, who moved up to Lake Clark, AK having been mentored by his boss at the Red Bluff, CA airport. He was ostensibly an apprentice AC mechanic but was getting flying time as well. A lot of you wished him well, naturally.

Well, I'm tickled to report that the kid hung in there and is now a full-fledged, full-time bush pilot for Lake Clark Lodge. A forum search for Lake Clark will bring up the original post, but this is pretty much the story. We couldn't be happier for him.

Help and Troubleshooting / Win 10 Update Nightmare
« on: April 20, 2018, 12:30:02 AM »
Win 10 decided to update right in the middle of something I was doing. "Critical security updates cannot be installed until you upgrade to the newest version of Win 10." Fine, but the upgrade wouldn't install 'cause I kept losing my Wi-Fi connection to my ISP. Eventually lost it altogether. If his happens to you, go to Device Manager and delete your Network Adapter, and the software. Re-start. Windows will re-install the driver. I went through 2 days of this. Fixed it though. Maybe this will help somebody else.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Helen's Fright

Having fond memories of landing there, I don't see it in the RTMM Flight plans. Did it get missed?

Help and Troubleshooting / Orphan ADEX File
« on: April 15, 2018, 09:53:44 PM »
I've got this file sitting in my Downloads folder all by its lonesome; not in a folder, just the file. Been there for a long while so I have no recollection of why it's there.

CB8U_ADEX_CED Lillooet Lake.bgl.

Is that even RTMM related? I don't see a Lillooet Lake in my RTMM Scenery Library.

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Landing Rate Monitor
« on: April 11, 2018, 09:47:28 PM »
As to Brad's reference to the rule of no flights being accepted over 600 fpm in his "Casual Flying" post, there's a free app out there called "LRM" for Landing Rate Monitor. I used it when I was with AKA. It will instantly tell you your landing rate and maybe save you the trouble of filing a PIREPS. If it's over 600, don't bother. Here's the link.

Help and Troubleshooting / Order of Forum Posts
« on: April 07, 2018, 07:07:13 PM »
New post replies are appearing at the bottom of a thread rather than the top, for me anyway. Is there a way to reverse that order? I don't see a way to do it, but I'll bet I'm just missing something simple.

                                   Thanx in advance, J.

Object Libraries for RTMM / BWEP Libs
« on: April 03, 2018, 12:05:10 AM »
Hi ya'll. I've been out of the loop for about a year now. Trying to get caught up and updated. Going through the NOTAMS it looked to me like the first thing on my agenda was to update my RTTM BWEP Lib. Dld'd the FSXP3D WH-BWEP Objects_SW 5-30-17 file. Turns out to be a 0KB file. Tried it twice. Grabbed it from the  Misty's Place, Object Libraries page.
