Title: New screenshots
Post by: Fishbone on October 05, 2011, 11:25:12 AM
Hi all,

I have bought a new bird :  C185 Bush from Carenado (19$)
And, as I wanted to test her, I have taken off for a flight over the icefield.

A nice place to fly over   ;)

I fly the Bush C-185 a lot in the sim and like it very much but it does use some FPS as opposed to the default aircraft.

Here's a preview of what Rest & Recreation Lodge (R&R) will look like when winter sets into the Icefields. Xavier has given us seasonal and night textures for many of the runways in the new CIRP ... R&R among them. Here's what the winter texture will look like.

Thank you (again!) Xavier.

Brrr!  That looks cold.  I've got frost on the inside of my screen.  I thought I'd share a screenshot of what I'm playing with this morning.  I wanted to have a CIRP version of the Wilco Feelthere Bell/Augusta Tiltrotor, so I slapped some CIRP letters on the side of one, and Viola!  A CIRP Tilt Rotor.  It could stand to have alot more detail done to it, but for five minutes of work, it looks good.

This is PERFECT for me.  When I fly a heli ... it becomes a lawn dart ... and the pointy end on this is just what I was looking for!

Seriously tho Jeff, that one looks like fun ... I could probably go straight up ok, then start looking for the next runway to land on.  Cool plane!

Yes, it is very fun and challenging.  It is a helicopter, and a plane.  It doesn't hover very good above 6500', but with practice, stol at higher elevations are possible.  I really like it, and it is well made.  A good addition to any collection.  As a plane, it goes 270 knots, and transitions are easy to manage.

Jeff,
It looks great! Who knows, you may find yourself pulling it up in your graphics program every now and again and adding little touches to it and the next thing you know.... you're at an awards ceremony thanking everybody :)

Doug,
LOL! I couldn't have summed it up better!

Xavier,
Nice screenshots! I recently picked up the 206G, at least I think that is what it's called, I haven't had much time to spend playing with it lately.

That's what I've been up to.  I'm trying FS Repaint v2.  It is a repainting program that collects all the steps into one interface.  The texture editor is a little too simple for my taste, but for basic tasks it works well.  I've been playing with the Bell/Agusta Tilt Rotor, and the EH101.  Here's some pics of work in progress.

The Carenado C-185 and many others have been updated to P3Dv4, if you haven't heard. ;)
