Landed at PAPG and noticed three SIRP buildings black. They are the buildings located along the fence and I suppose are a part of the depot. Using P3D v4 and have all libraries installed. Anyone else noticed this. I saw where someone had issue with vehicles here, I don't.
-
The scenery guys maybe able to help better but there are a few thoughts on Black Buildings...
(Will assume all of the libraries are in and correct)
Give a quick check that you have the (new) SIRP Installed (Black buildings) could indicate that you maybe missing a texture file. Download and install SIRP (new version 2.1) which was updated 05.31.2018). This includes the SIRP stations plus the SIRP_Depot.
Also delete your shaders folder which is in hidden folder:
C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Shaders.
(SIRP Buildings at PAPG)
Restart the sim (it will rebuild the shader folder and update its contents).
Hope that might be your fix.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other cause of black stuff (buildings) might be graphics driver update or some of the settings in P3D might be a tad high and can't draw the textures fast enough but seems unlike as only your SIRP building are black. Just give it a play a bit..
-
Thanks Norm, it is the buildings in your third picture I am having problems with. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. since no one else is having the problem, it has to be my system, as usual.
-
Can someone tell me the textures required and if required the bgl for the three depot buildings at PAPG?
Three updates now and I still have three black buildings/sheds.
-
Copy the three SIRP Depot bgl files in the scenery folder of SIRP and the problem should be sorted. (hopefully)
-
Nope. Been doing that since first released and still black.
-
Very strange - I'm using P3Dv4.2, too.
Does the "RTMM Scenery Object Tester" show any problems (missing obejcts)?
Additional:
Your missing buildings are in:
- 00_FSXP3D_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl
Textures are in:
- SIRP_JAY_EZ_SHEDS.dds
-
Thanks Dieter, yes I have all objects and those files. I also hahave another sheds file sirp_jay_ez_sheds_lm.dds.
-
That's correct, this one is for the night scenery objects.
But from your answer it seems you still have the reported problems that the buildings are not displayed correctly?
No idea anymore, sorry.
-
That's ok. With the scenery as great as it is, I hate to have flaws in it, but that seems to come with flight simulator. I may have to move to x-plane, but then I will lose Misty stuff.
-
BTW, are these buildings used in any other airports?
-
Yes, I suspect these ones are (partly) used in the 10 SIRP camp sceneries (SRC0 to SRC9).
-
Might want to update your SIRP. Mike just did a brand new update of the SIRP: SIRP Version 2.3 which updates the stations as well as the depot. Maybe?
-
So...
Some buildings were also used in SCR2 / 3/4/8.
But first please delete the old SIRP version and install new version 2.3...
Important...
Delete old version!
Otherwise old files are preserved.
Filenames have changed!
Which P3D version are you using exactly?
-
Exactly 4.2! All files including scenery libraries have been deleted and re installed from fresh downloads. I believe 2.3 of sirp is now a couple of days old?
-
Yes, the SIRP Update 2.3 has been online for three days.
Did you use the configurator and put on P3Dv4 +?
And does the problem of black buildings still exist?
Are there any black buildings in the camps?
-
Used configurator, set to v4
Black buildings still exist
Have not been to camps.
-
Screen shot of new screen shot
http://prntscr.com/jwg8cu
-
Please check the camp's (SRC 2/3/4/8) for black objects.
Exist on your PC the following files?
- SIRP_ lens_ez_oil_drums.bgl
- SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl
- SIRP_Misc_LIB.bgl
These are from the first SIRP publication and must be deleted / disabled.
Duplicate objects often generate such errors (black objects).
Only the following files may exist and be active!
For FSX / P3D setting in the configurator:
- 00_FSXP3D_lens_ez_oil_drums_LIB.bgl
- 00_FSXP3D_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl
- 00_FSXP3D_SIRP_Misc_LIB.bgl
For P3Dv4 + setting in the configurator:
- 00_P3D4_lens_ez_oil_drums_LIB.bgl
- 00_P3D4_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl
- 00_P3D4_SIRP_Misc_LIB.bgl
Which files are active with you?
-
SRC2 - Black center building with snow on top.
SRC3 - Black shed.
SRC4 - Black building with large snow mound floating over it and looks like an elevation problem here.
SRC8 - Black depot, but fireplace chimney fine. Again looks like elevation problem as large snow mound elevated airport sunken.
Exist on your PC the following files?
- SIRP_ lens_ez_oil_drums.bgl - NO
- SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl - NO
- SIRP_Misc_LIB.bgl - NO
These are from the first SIRP publication and must be deleted / disabled.
Duplicate objects often generate such errors (black objects).
Only the following files may exist and be active!
For FSX / P3D setting in the configurator:
- 00_FSXP3D_lens_ez_oil_drums_LIB.bgl - YES OFF 00_P3D4_LENS_EZ_OIL_DRUMS_LIB.BGL ON
- 00_FSXP3D_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl YES OFF P3D4 ON
- 00_FSXP3D_SIRP_Misc_LIB.bgl YES OFF P3D4 ON
For P3Dv4 + setting in the configurator:
- 00_P3D4_lens_ez_oil_drums_LIB.bgl - ON
- 00_P3D4_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl - ON
- 00_P3D4_SIRP_Misc_LIB.bgl - ON
Thanks for your help!
-
Since which version do you use SIRP?
And since which version do you have the problems with the black buildings?
Please use the configurator to activate the FSX / P3D objects.
Is the problem still there then?
-
What are you seeing in the scenery object tester?
-
????? All of these questions have been previously answered.
I am using 2.3 of SIRP, have used all previous versions with same problem.
Will try fsx/p3d option.
Scenery object tester shows all objects and all textures there. No black objects.
-
No difference when switched to fsx/p3d.
-
Okay...
Then set please again with the configurator on P3Dv4 + and then disable the 00_P3D4_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl...
Just attach to bgl still .xxx ...
What about the SIRP base (PAPG)?
Still black buildings or are the buildings missing now?
-
Unexpectedly, they are still there black. This means to me there must be another file, but I have searched my drive for duplicates.
-
Yes you are right.
Now it is looking for the needle in a haystack (a German proverb).
Please disable all AddOns (except TongassFjordX).
Continue disabling all additional object libraries (including RTMM).
Now only the P3D standard sceneries, TongassFjordX and SIRP should be active.
Please leave the 00_P3D4_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl deactivated.
As a result, a lot more objects are missing in the SIRP base ...
But it's only about the black buildings.
What does the result look like now?
-
No objects at this end of AP
Sorry, had another file turned off and didn't realize it. Buildings still black.
-
@BBQSteve
do I understand it right...
Except SIRP
-All AddOn sceneries (Pay and Freeware) turned off / disabled?
-All object libraries have been turned off / disabled?
As my recommendation in the previous post?
And the buildings are still black?
-
All RTMM scenery and libraries were turned off.
-
I meant all sceneries.
Not just RTMM sceneries.
Or are there no other scenes with you?
If so, then please delete or rename the P3D shaders folder.
The folder is recreated when the P3D is started.
You can find the folder under AppDate / Local / Lockheed Martin / Prepar3D v4 / Shaders
Imer still black buildings?
-
You need to find an easier problem. Just kidding. :) Pretty crazy.
-
All scenery turned off except default, TGF and RTMM SIRP. Black buildings are gone and only signs remain.
http://prntscr.com/jxoe1h
-
That looks good.
Did the black buildings disappear after deleting the P3D shaders folder?
Or were you gone after disabling AddOns?
-
gone after addons.
-
Then always activate one AddOn after another and look for each AddOn if the black buildings are back.
Until the add-on is found, which causes the problem.
-
I'll never fly again if I do that. With no exaggeration it takes my sim on average 10 minutes just to start up and another 3 to load the scenario saved for PAPG. That's about 15 minutes per startup per scenery. My cfg file has 594 entries counting base P3D v4 files. I think I will just have to live with those black buildings. Thanks for your help though.
-
My guess is it's a freeware scene.
So maybe you can exclude payware and activate it at once.
Then check.
If the black buildings are still missing, then the freeware remains.
This should reduce the number of sceneries?
Now from the freeware always activate 5 or 10 scenes together and then check.
You can also activate 50 scenes together.
So you can narrow the problem to the last activated sceneries.
Only then can one find the culprit.
I would already know which scenery is responsible for the problem so that I can create an update if necessary so that the problem does not recur.
But for that I need the culprit.
-
When I get some more time I'll give it a go, but I don't know what other freeware it could be.
-
You will find it out.
But maybe I am wrong with my guess and it is due to a payware scene.
For me it would be interesting, which scenery causes the mistakes.
-
Culprit has been located, Scotflight-Libraries. http://www.scotflightscenery.com/Freeware.htm
This must have come from the ScoLighthouses_Part1.exe since that is the only install program I have of this addon scenery. It is freeware.
-
Hmmm.. RTMM has to sit on top. I have the Scotflight stuff but no problems with black SIRP building.
While your checking, might as well DL and set up the new Scotflight Libraries
> latest version is V5.01: date June 4th 2018.
-
I'm far away from my flightsim's computer right now, but try copying the texture files in the SIRP folder to the main texture folder within your sim's main folder.(If there are any texture files there - I can't look if there are any, because like I said I'm far, from my flightsim's computer.)
-
Just installed Scotflight lighthouses, airports and the 5.01 library. the library and lighthouses sit below RTMM files and the airports above. New library does the same when enabled. Real question is why these two independent sceneries conflict?
-
I cannot confirm this problem:
- I have all Scotflight freeware that is offered here (including latest Scotflight library 5.1)
http://www.scotflightscenery.com/Freeware.htm
and even set in priority higher than all RTMM stuff and I don't experience any problems.
(Win10, P3Dv4.2)
-
Dieter where do you have the rtmm and scotflight libraries.
-
My RTMM libraries begin just after
[Area.119]
Title=Global, Generic & Vehicle Libraries
Local=Scenery\Global
....
[Area.120]
Title=AhZx_LIB SUB LibraryFSXP3D
All other RTMM libraries following ...
Note: the [area] numbers are shown from an editor view! (highest number, highest priority)
Looks different from P3D Scenery Library view = smallest number -highest priority
RTMM sceneries just above all my Orbx sceneries
My Scotflight freeware sceneries are high above beginning with
[Area.400]
Title=ScotflightLibraries
followed by the other Sotflight freeware ...
-
I have all my libraries grouped under my airport scenery, but above the ORBX stuff. Above the libraries are RTMM files then third party AP's.
-
So...
I looked at the current ScotflightLibraries v5.01.
We immediately found the problem.
The guys from Scotflight have taken the original FS9-SIRP library AB_Buildings.bgl into their library.
Scotflight may have extracted the models and saved them back as FSX models.
But they did not take the original texture with it.
I have the original FS9-SIRP with the corresponding models in FSX native and P3Dv4 native models converted.
I have retained the original Guid.
For the flight simulators only the Guid is crucial!
Now there are two ways to solve the problem.
1. Doug turns to Scotflight and asks to remove the SIRP Bgl files from the Scotflight library, as the rights to this are with RTMM.
2. I'm doing an update and change the guid, then the problem should not exist anymore.
-
@Mike,
my respect for finding this!!!
-
It was a difficult problem to solve.
A big thank you to BBQSteve for his good cooperation.
As a short-term solution, I recommend deactivating the AB_Buildings.bgl in the ScotflightLibraries.
A long term solution, see my previous post.
And do not forget to enable the 00_P3D4_SIRP_Buildings_LIB.bgl again.
-
"You may have extracted the models and saved them back as FSX models." Nope, not me, I just installed the stuff.
Thanks Mike for the effort, both the scenery and the troubleshooting. ;D
P.S.
Why didn't Dieter have the same problem?
-
A misunderstanding...
I meant Scotflight has extracted the models and saved them as FSX models.
Why does not Dieter have the same problems ...
Well, every PC and every operating system reacts slightly differently to the flight simulator.
This was already at FS9 times and is still the case with the P3Dv4.
-
I wonder ...
Now that it's proofed that Scotflight used the original FS9-SIRP library AB_Buildings.bgl into their Scotfight Library 5.01 I wonder how things will continue.
Will a responsible RTMM person get in contact with one of the Scotfight crew (Iain Gallacher & Iain Murray) about this?
Today's Object Libray Table of "Return to Misty Moorings" contains a clearly visible red marking about the use of the object library?
It's said:
"""You may confidentially report any violations to "contact@mistymoorings.com"""
Or was that old RTMM SIRP-file just freeware without any copyrights just ror everyone's use? (Which I don't think if you read here:
http://www.edtruthan.com/sirp/sirpmanual.htm
- at the end of the description you'll find "Legal Stuff"
-
It's getting more and more strange ...
I just visited RTMM Scenery Download page and I happened to see that S.I.R.P. is temporarily not available!
Why is that?
As far as I understood there was never a problem with SIRP textures! ! !
What I read here it was a problem of same object GUID numbers that Scotflight used without permission in "their" AB_Buildings.bgl file but without textures.
This reaction is some kind of strange - just my 2 cents ...
-
For numerous internal reasons SIRP has been temporarily and indefinitely removed from the download section.
How do you, or anyone else, know that Scotflight used, altered, or posted on their website the AB buildings files without permission from the original author(s)?
Steve
-
I assume if Doug as member of the former "Amigo Team" or any other RTMM Staff member would have given a permission or had the information about it this public discourse could have easily been solved by writing a short note here in the forum that this problem is cut and dried.
Nobody had any idea and any knowledge about it and possibly wouldn't have up to now unless BBQSteve reported the problem and Mike found the culprit in the Scotflight Library. All that makes me supposed to think so that a permission was never given.
It seems that the original FS9-SIRP library AB_Buildings.bgl has been altered. This can be seen by disassembling/decompiling the bgl with appropriate software. There are no coincidences that GUID numbers are equal just ramdomly.
I don't know if former "Amigo" Ed Turthan gave a permission, I agree.
(but I might ask him)
-
I finish writing any more postings on this, it's not my intension to stir the forum, and in the end, it's not my business.
(it's not because I'm afraid to answer on a contenious debate.)
-
Good Dieter, because some of the information you have is incomplete and largely speculative at this point. We will be working on a solution sometime in the future.
Steve

Hi…
the problem with the black buildings (as described above) is history now!
I got in touch with Scotflight and explained the problem to them.
Scotflight has removed the 20 SIRP / RTMM models from their lib at my request.
You have to reload the Scotflight installer.
Other problems have never existed with SIRP!
Thus, the SIRP download can be free again.
