Hi ...
The Hawaii Airports runway has a regular P3D runway overlaying it. Anybody see this and know how to get rid of the (red) overlaying runways?
I've got everything with PHMK turned off except the flattens in PhotoReal Plus, which it needs. All of the Hawaiian airports taxiways and ramps are there. And when it loads, you can see the correct runway "flash", then the overlaying runway lands on it.

Is that "FTX Global Airports" doing that? A file called "ADE_FTX_FTXG_PHMK.BGL" is the most likely candidate on my system. I haven't tested the theory though. :-\
Edit: It's not that file. Disregard. ???

:-). I have everything for all the airports replaced by Hawaiian Airports turned to "off" I can search for PHMK in P3D and look at all references, the only ones ON are the two flattens from Hawaii PhitoReal. Vector PHMK is set to inactive. Darned if I can figure where it's coming from. Do u see that at Molokai?

Here's what mine looks like ...

OK, so you don't have the Hawaiian Airports by George Keogh? Because I don't see his "artwork" in the taxiway or beside the runway, meaning you don't have it. Look at the edges of my runway picture, you'll see there is a runway under it.

I do have the airport graphic under that runway overlay. Here is my scenery library for HP. ... isn't that the airports at the bottom there? ???

EDIT: Ok, I've moved the airport files above the island files. Now it looks like this ...

We are at Molokai, PHMK. ;)

8) PHMK - FSX, Hawaii photo plus, Hawaii airports, FTX_FTXG_AIRPORTS, Global Base and Vector with FSGX 2010 FTX .

Darn, that's the way it should be with all the cracked runway effect. More to do. Thanks Sue.

When I moved my airport files above the island files the cracks appeared. ;)

Interesting stuff ... Attached is mine, it is above ...

My airports base and mesh are below the airport files. See if that changes things. :-\
-
Yep ... changes ... but wrong direction! :-) Now the airport area is raised. Jeff, could you resend what you have now for your scenery library for Hawaii with the changes you made?
Also interesting that Sue is using FTX airports not conflicting with Hawaiian Airports. I thought it was one or the other? (I prefer the Hawaiian Airports because the objects are custom made for the airports, eg pink structures at Lahaina, etc).
Also, in Vector Config, PHMK isn't showing up. When I look in the vector files, it is there with a ".inactive".

PHMK RWY 5
bottom up: airports Mech, Airports Base, The Hawaii photoreals, George's Airports on top. (All patches installed)
(FTX Freeware airport is active - (not disabled).
(I guess should have turned the sim brightness up a bit.)
-
Yep, you are showing what I'm seeing. That top runway shouldn't be there and you can see the Hawaiian Airport one bleeding thorugh a little. Look at Sue's picture up the thread, the runway is all cracked. You can also see the Hawaiian airport's runway is "under" the one you are showing ... it is wider ... so you are seeing the edges of it.

Not quite sure if in Sue's screenshot isn't a top runyway placed.
This runway type has a light gray color and isn't that protruding as the black one from nbrich1.
Anyway, the rwy cracks in PHMK are "produced" by the file
- Photo_PHMK_19.bgl
in Hawaiian Airports 1. This file should lay the cracks on the top rwy.
Compare rwys in PHLU and PHHN. (there are just cracked photoreal rwy textures)

Here's a screwy picture, but it is showing what is going on. This is what I see when I turn off the mesh for the Hawaiian Airports. (I do this to make this picture "happen"). Notice the Hawaiian airport (cracked) runway is there ... it is beneath the "P3D type" runway on the top. What I need to figure out is how to make that top runway go away, then only the Hawaiian Airports (cracked) runway would be showing.
(Yes, I put the mesh back).
Doug
PS . I have the same overlay problem at PHLU

Is this what you're asking for, Doug? Here is my current configuration. I am using the Pilot's Global 2010 mesh while in HI, btw. ;)

I don't put any stock in the runway colors or even the cracks. I run REX Plus so it would depend on my runway setting aesthetics as to what I see. I can show cracks or not show cracks, change tarmac colors, center line effects etc.. Not to throw a wrench in the works, but that might affect the different things people are seeing, runway texture-wise, if they have REX Plus. It runs in the background so my guess is that people might forget they even have it installed. It would over-ride any basic scenery. Just a thought.
