Boy, screwy one this morning. Went to open P3D ... and it doesn't open. The Task Manager sees it working. Some time later, it loads in the scenery, etc without the load in screen behind it. Once loaded ... nothing happens.  It shows it is running in Task manager, but nothing in the bottom tray and no P3D visable!  Oh me.

This is what amazes me about these computers. It was fine when I turned it off last night, wake up this morning and it is broken!  I'm watching the task manager it shows my Prepar3D.exe is using 32 to 34% of the CPU ... it's doing something. If I try to reload, it says P3D already running.

I'm downloading the new 3.4 right now, perhaps installing it will fix the problem.

UPDATE ------------------------------------------

Did the Run as Administrator and it now works fine ... never had to do that before. I swear Win 10 is "doing thing" when we aren't looking!

Doug set your shortcut to run P3D as admin.

Yep, that's what I finally did. But what is interesting, I had the shortcut there for the last 3 months or whenever the last update was, but this morning it decided to enforce the rule.  Oh me.

Thank you Dex.

:'(  Ok, thanks.  I will wait for them (IS3) to "catch up" then, before applying the update.   ;)

IS3 Now works wit P3Dv3.4.9.  This is from FSDiscover:

"To make IS3 work with the new P3D, please click Check Online when IS3 complains about an incompatible Prepar3D version. This should now fix it."

P3D has VR support!  :o  ???  8)  I tried it for the first time this morning, with my HTC Vive HMD.  It was very cool, indeed.  So much more immersive, like actually being in the plane.  Thank you, Lockheed Martin!  8)  :)

Hey Jeff, that is pretty cool.  I think I would miss being able to see my switches (GoFlight junkie) as opposed to the touch and feel system :).   A VR cockpit with full activated touch switches on touch screen might work but I don't have touch and don't know if it is supported by P3D in that way?  What do you think?

I use voice attack to perform button presses with voice commands.  It's hard enough just finding the throttle lever.  ;D  P3D's VR is in early development, I think.  It needs a lot of work and some polish.  The panels don't show up in VR, and you can't go into chase plane view in VR either.  Only the virtual cockpit is VR.  I don't have anything with a touchpad.  But it seems you would have to see it to use it, which means peeking out of the HMD for a look.   :-\

Yep....a new technology that needs more development for flight sim.  Maybe a trackable flight glove will make the difference....

I was a bit silent the passed weeks. this was because my flightsim PC went into Nirvana....
Now I have a pretty nice new system and did the change from FSX to P3Dv3.4. :)

Today I did the first check flight with the P3d's UH60 Blackhawk helicopter.... WOW! Holy Crab!
What a difference!!! I never believed It will be that beautiful.....great simflying times are coming 8)

... and it is VR ready.  Get an HTC Vive and get into your cockpit.  Still cheaper than a real plane, but now feels like you are really sitting IN the seat.   8)
