Title: GPS Tracking for the boats
Post by: Doug on March 04, 2016, 09:00:46 AM
Jeff ...

If you look about 52:50 on the vid HERE (http://www.twitch.tv/mistymoorings/v/52211866), you'll see that when it turns the corner it over corrects for the turning track, then comes back across it sharply looking for the track. I've got to make turns like this far more gradual, and further from the coastline. I want to stay near the coast on straight runs for the scenery, but I should make the turns wider. Learning as we go.  Is there a way to "dampen" the GPS tracking in the Daisy and Sirroco?  It porpoises laterally while tracking, if we could "dampen" that, it would track very well.

Also, on the Daisy, the front "spray" is not under the boat but further out to the side, like in the pic of the Sirroco you posted ... any way to get that spray tucked back under the boat?

And last, is there any way to get into the DeltaSim's program to get rid of the tinted window on these boats, it may be some kind of overlay ... it is just too dark to use the cockpit on most of them.

Hi Doug,
I read this message a couple days ago.  I didn't own the Daisy, so I bought one.  I drove it around a bit, and it seems to perform ok for me, although at a 9 knot pace.  Seems a little slow to me.  I will look into the issues you mention, but I believe the coordinates for the wake spray are in the light section of the aircraft.cfg. ;)

Hi Jeff ... yeah, you can speed it up to about 25 knots ... unless it is going into the wind, then it is slower. Great boat except for those problems I mentioned. No biggie, but would really make this one work better.
