Title: Problems with Spud's Creek in P3D v2
Post by: mariodonick on June 29, 2015, 03:53:34 AM
Hello,

never thought my first P3D-related post ever would be about boating...

I downloaded the Gator Bait air boat and want to use it with the Spud's Creek float plan. However, whenever I start to enter the river, the boat seems to collide with the ground. It makes no difference if I drive very slowly or on which side I try to enter the river. The boat then turns to one side and crashes.

I have installed the Spud's Creek scenery correctly. I use OrbX' Pacific Fjords, but no custom mesh (so it's P3D v2.5 default mesh, mesh resolution is 5 m).

Has anybody an idea what might be wrong?

Make sure you have the crash tuns off for all Misty sceneries...grass can wreck you. I haven't run spuds creek for so long..., I'll have to go back and look at it.

Float trip/plan for FSX works OK so it must be P3D related.

Ya know, it sounds more like a vehicle problem, not scenery related.  (I never did like the airboat myself.  But that is just my personal opinion.)  Can you "slew" it into the water, then switch to normal to start out?  Does it drive fine once it's placed into the water?   ???

I agree about the airboat.  It handles like a druken sailor on hard corners.  I personally use the Riva Aqurama speed boat.  It is manuverable and can get up to speed for those long straight shots on the big rivers.
