Title: The Lighthouses of SAK
Post by: Doug on May 29, 2013, 02:27:01 PM
The lighthouses that are added in SAK can now be found on the USFS Cabins/Lighthouses page:
http://return.mistymoorings.com/cabins/index.php#light (http://return.mistymoorings.com/cabins/index.php#light).  I've added screen shots of the lighthouses so you will know what to expect ... and frankly, expect a LOT!  These are very well done and come very close to looking like the actual structure.  These make great helicopter flights and if you look at the Google Map that is linked at the top of the lighthouse section, you'll see there are two "groups".  I'll eventually make a trip tic to highlight trips to both of these groups.  The FSDiscover dat file is now updated and the lighthouses will show up when you have the "cabins" database installed and updated. (Top of the USFS Cabins page).

PS A MUST SEE is Cape St Elias with Pinnacle Rock.

Many have great helipads, perfect for the heli guys...floats land near by. I'm adding low and slow flight plans to the gradually as I fly them. Plans under the pic to the right.

UPDATE: Flight Plans for each are finished.

Just checked the actual USFS Cabins and Lighthouses page.....Wow, it`s like opening a treasure box.
Thanks so much for this great work, Doug!

The Lighthouses in SAK are really perfect as heli-locations. I just only tried Eldred Rock but that location is really great. It can be easily accessed via PAJN, PAHN or PAGY.
